Does not compute.

Holy shit, you've got it? I still have to wait a day for it to come out, then i have to spew out the money to buy it! I actually just got the Fallout Collection last week, 'n' I'm still finishing fallout 2. Cbf with Fallout Tactics though.

Well what's it like? Punched anyone's head off yet? Ah shit, I'm in Australia so they'll restrict all the drugs and sex eh. :'( Oh and are there children in it?

W00t, 2000th post.

You can blow the fuck out of everything with a well-aimed shotgun blast, but it really gets samey after a while, simpler to just play in realtime TPS. Yes, there are children, and you can blow 'em up as well, although the population of the town won't appreciate that move too much.
From what I've heard, it's not just the Australian version that's been pussified, they removed the questionable content from all versions according to wikipedia.

Ack, I managed to get a copy yesterday. Damn disappointing.

Well I could rant about all the flaws of fallout 3 but I'll leave that to Yahtzee.
Let me just say, Bethsoft killed it

Now that I've got over my initial enthusiasm and actually spent some time playing this, there are flaws, yes, but I wouldn't go as far as to say they killed it.

In my opinion Fallout 3 takes everything that sucked about Oblivion and made it suck a lot less, then added some awesome.

It is hard to say for sure whether I like this or Dead Space better. I'm leaning towards Fallout 3.

Hmm, crashes on the tabletop computer every now and then without saying anything. Videocard drivers were very recently updated; 1 GB memory: memtest OK, so what gives? Anyone else experience this?

On the laptop, it sometimes crashes with ati2dvag.dll errors (especially when I'm using VATS), screwing around with the drivers (uninstalling/reverting to previous state/reinstalling/using 3rd party Omega drivers) doesn't help.

It's a buggy release, lots of people with the same problems from what I hear.

Games like this will always be buggy. The fact is, they couldn't test it on enough machines or hire enough testers to play this kind of game enough to rid of them all.

*edit* Could also be your crackage, you non-law abiding citizen.

No, the only difference is that there's no securom and I didn't pay for it. By the way, Oblivion used to do this shit too, but that was a game I didn't give two shits about.

Runs without crashes for me, just not at a very good framerate.

I might get the Xbox360 version.

On the subject of the Xbox 360, I've just discovered you can stream .avis from your PC to it. This makes me very happy indeed.

I turned my back on roots of 2-D to 3-d Duke Nukem, Jane of the Jungle, Crystal Caves, F-15, Wolfenstien 3-D, Doom, One Must Fall, Lesiure Suit Larry, and of course Fallout 1 and 2... and bought this thing on the XBOX360!

This game is my viagra.

Apparenlty you can only level to 20, so care careful on the spreading your skill points thin... (I 'm a bit pissed about this... it makes the limmitlessness of the game a little shallow)

But then I just killed a giant mutant swinging a firehydrant, with a mini nuke launcher (fatboy) and looted the dead BOS dudes infront of their brothers.

Fuck, I missed this world.

excuse me :sniff: I've got something in my eye.

I'm running around desperately hoping to find some more power for my laser pistol, or better yet a useful energy weapon, as they're the only type of weapon I can use with any proficiency. It wouldn't be so bad if they didn't degrade so fast, and the general way to repair it(without forking out an arm and a leg)is to find another one. They're rare enough as it is.

Been to the super duper mall yet? Chick in Megaton gives you a quest to go there to find meds and food, I found 2 or 3 laser guns there, too. Plus, if you run into any of them law-enforcing Enclave bots, you can salvage some energy cells from them after the encounter.
