I've been one of the most optimistic people here about Episode III. I was really hoping it would be great. But if this story is not BS (and it very well may be BS, since this info is NEVER released this early with a SW movie) then my hope's pretty much gone. I guess the title could be worse, but the stuff about them surfing on lava just left a horrible taste in my mouth.

Anakin: Hang 10 with the Dark Side!

Obi-Wan: Surf's Up!

If everybody had an ocean
of a lava base
Then everybody would be fighting
somewhere in outer space

They'd be wearing their jedi cloaks,
using lightsabers too

A stupid, retard director
Screwing his fan base

Lucas and his cronies are screwing....
Screwing their fan base!
Lucas and his cronies are screwing....
Screwing their fan base!

George Lucas amazes me. Just when I think he couldn't do any worse, he finds a new lower level. Surfing on lava! SURFING ON LAVA!

Think, George, think!!!!!

QUOTE
Anakin and Obi-Wan fight on platforms on the lava. They control these like surfboards.

I'm speechless. Like surfboards? I REALLY hope they're exagerrating... I wouldn't mind them fighting on rocks that are crashing into the lava and that they might use the force to control some of it, but SURFING??!?! :yuck:

I like how the article--which seemed, in all other ways, to be a simple, brief, unbiased statement of fact--capitalized and bolded the word "lava". Suddenly, without changing any of the words, it reads like "They fight on--get this, guys, this is priceless--lava. How stupid is that?"

The title of the movie sums up my feelings right about now.

You know what, the title could be a shitload worse. It may not be true, but if it is, yeah, it's not original, but at least it's FUCKING RELEVENT! I mean, Attack of the Clones???? WHAT? At least he made a real title this time that works in context with the movie, and if this were the first trilogy, it really wouldn't be that bad a title. I'm much more pissed about the lava surfing. After all, is this title really any different from Return of the Jedi except for being the other end of the spectrum? The more I think about it, the more I see it really isn't that horrible, and certainly not what it could have been.

But as I said, it may not be true, and we may get a much worse title instead.

That's right, Vwing. The real issue here is the freakin' LAVA SURFING!

I guess the title doesn't really bother me. Attack of the Clones didn't completely bother me, but "The Phantom Menace" is about the most atrocious title that has ever been, and ever shall be for a SW movie.

Well, the lava surfing is pretty unsurprising. Wasn't it all leading up to this?

The first bit of positive SW news I've read in years was in that article, however. The title of Episode III will be "Birth of the Empire"? It's not a great title but it's the first movie title in the prequel trilogy that isn't absolutely dreadful. That's something, right?

... Right?

Yep, I can handle this as a title, but in the grand scheme of things it would probably have been better served if it was the title ofr the first movie. I mean we are going to go from "Birth of the Empire" to "A New Hope". I would have liked to have seen a little more development between the birthing and the need for an alternate hope.
