Yeah, but the movie would probably be based on him in Solid, or Big Boss.

Yeah, and Solid Snake is pretty old (unless you've just been living under a rock for over a year and have not seen a single frame of gameplay footage from MGS4) and Big Boss is....dead. Either way, Kurt Russell's career is long over with, so his chances of landing a role this huge are about as good as my chances of winning the fucking Nobel prize.

I was thinking the same until Rambo came back this year.

Solid Snake may be old but the movie doesn't necessarily have to take place after MGS4

I don't think we should be discussing who should play the role of Snake as the movie would be absolute SHITE. We've proved it already; almost, if not every game to movie conversion fails.

And yes, the third resident evil movie is quite the shit one. Alice (that her name?) goes to the desert, kills zombies, finds a secret underground base full of potty-trained polite zombies, kills them, discovers telekenetic ablilities within herself, kills more zombies, kills a family of mutant inbreds and thats about it.
Also, has anyone played the Starship Troopers game? If its crap then I'm fully with the theory that all movie to game conversions suck ass as well. WAIT NO, Aliens vs. predator 2 was ONE good game from movies. Any others that turned out well?

I liked the Pirates of the Carribbean game, mainly because it had sort of nothing to do with the actual merchandise and just created a nice chilly atmosphere and looked darned sweet. Just floating through the waters for a few hours until I saw land or a ship again was never this much fun, not even in Pirates!.

And there's a Starship Troopers game? It'd better be good.

The Lego movie adaptations are surprisingly fun, aside from the borderline infuriating team mate that follows you around and the lousy camera.

Yeah, I picked up a copy of the Starship Troopers game in EB yeaaars back. Looked good from the box. (its got that swarm tech. that dead rising has so theres like thousands of bugs i think)
I partly agree with gobbler, the only thing i like about the lego movie adaptions is when characters die the explode into little tiny kibbles!!! Also, I think I played Spiderman 2 on PS2, that the one where you can swing into a helicopter's rotors and get all mangled up?

Do you mean the point & click adventure game? I would've liked it, but from the castle level the arcade elements get too dominant and frustrating.

Actually, if I remember right, there was a "sucker punch" button in that game that would instantly win any fight for you. It lowered your overall "Indy Quotient" but if I didn't like the arcade segments I wouldn't give two shits about it.

It was fun to do stuff in different ways. I'm one of those compulsive quicksave/quickload using guys whenever it's available, since I've gotten used to the routine of "screw up once = good luck trying to salvage that" in most games.

Yeah, so I accidentally shot one of the invading military types in the defense of the Duty base in S.T.A.L.K.E.R., and the stupid script had nothing better to do than to declare me a murderer and let all the surrounding NPCs attack me... greeeaattt...

I mean, I don't really have a problem with just shooting my way out of there, but I sure would have liked the option of somehow "redeeming" myself. Err, maybe that whole thing ain't the best example, but anyways - if I get to pick a choice, I want it to really matter and not just have it result in a dozen guns aimed at me all of a sudden, forcing me to make friends with F7 again.

It was in Indy 4 only, I think.

That's the trouble with trying to remember games from, what, 15+ years ago?

Damn I'm old.
