How about Kurt Russel? Sure, he may be getting old now, but Solid Snake, is so aggressively inspired by Snake Plissken (didn't he even use that name in MGS2?) that anything else is scandalous.

In conclusion, I'd rather see Escape from Planet Earth, as long as it's not another Escape from LA.

Oh, Heccubus, go easy. It's just from that list you look like you're shooting down a lot of American mainstream movies. The opposite of American mainstream is...

No I'm shooting down a lot of American mainstream movies based on video games that are, by and large, considered to be awful. If I sit here and list off a bunch of terrible pop albums, does that mean I hate all mainstream music? Of course not. It's giving a comparatively small sampling of absolute shit from a ludicrously broad spectrum of popular music.
If anything, I should note, I struggle to avoid "indie" movies. The last time I went to see an "indie" movie, it was Juno. I am still trying to contact the necessary parties to ensure that I get my fucking hour-and-a-half back from that worthless waste of film.

Oh bloody hell. First Resident Evil then Doom then Hitman and now this. I need to buy a gun and 5 tons of C4 to settle this problem. I really hope that ECHELON puts Chefelf.com on its blacklist after reading this... too many terrorists on this forum in my opinion.

This topic is of course assuming you care about the movie tongue.gif I know Yahtzee didn't really like MGS, I don't know how many of you share that opinion.

So, there's an MGS movie in the works. There's been no word on who will play who, aside from unfounded rumours about Christian Bale playing Solid Snake.

But, if liquid was going to be in it, who would be best to play him? I vote Sean Bean

I think you failed to realise that Solid and Liquid were/are twins so any actors that play those two would have to look like one another.

They don't look that similar though do they?

To be fair though, a search for Liquid Snake does bring up loads of pics of Sean Bean.

What we also have to remember is that Kojima basically shat over everything we know about cloning and twins. It was also revealed in MGS4 that Snake & Liquid AREN'T identical, at least on a genetic level

It was actually "Iroquois Plissken" in the game, but yeah the connection is pretty obvious.

Except they do look exactly alike. But yeah, I hope whoever is given the job to direct this film dies on the first day of filming. Also, I forgot to add Silent Hill and Max Payne to the list of failed game-to-movie movies.

What we also have to remember is that MGS lost all it's credibility the moment Kojima tried to pull that possessed arm bullshit.

The worst thing about him is that he has a great backstory.

I didn't know it was out yet. Judging by the trailer, it looks pretty bad ass.

Give the man a break, he's obviously been watching a bit too much of Evil Dead.

And by default, hate yourself, as he is a post-modern reincarnation of the player.

Yes, it is just as retarded as it sounds.

I get what they were trying to do with him (I think?), which was okay, but he still just ended up seeming like a whiny teenager. Made worse by the fact that the only reason I wanted to play MSG2 was because I liked Snake so much. The game itself was sorely lacking in that area, so I had to settle for fapping to the gay Snake porn I found on 4chan. crying.gif

I still fail to see what was so bad about Hitman. He went around, he did stealthy type stuff, he assassinated people, kidnapped people and when all was said and done he escaped.

Chances are that it will be like the Star Wars Prequels where the trailers are better then the actual movies.

But I suppose I'm biased against all game-to-movie conversions ever since Resident Evil.

Also, I forgot to add Alone in the Dark to the list but (to be fair) it did suck the least amount compared to all other game-to-movie conversions.

I am also biased against movie-to-game conversions like The Thing and Super Mario Bros not to mention movie-to-game-to-movie conversions like Pokemon. I do enjoy comic-to-game conversion though.
