I just had an idea today that involved the possibility of setting up semi-frequent online gaming parties for older PC games like Jedi Knight, Mysteries of the Sith, or Half-Life. Anybody interested? If you don't have the games, I'm sure we could find a way of getting them to you.

You betcha! I'd also participate in a new school LAN party. (HALO for the PC... Battlefield 1942, etc.)

Yeah, the problem with that is that some of us (especially me) could not run those games. The point is to revisit the classics of online gaming.

True. Old School it is!

Actually Halo doesn't require as much system resources as one would think.

But would it run on a 700mhz processor? It's too advanced for my poor old computer. Anyway, once I get my CD drive replaced (which will be soon now that I found work) I'll start working on figuring out the fine details. I'm sure that Reader will be interested in a Jedi Knight or MotS game or two if he can swing it.

Actually, i'd rather get into JK:JO, if anything from Lucasarts. JK/MotS has given me plenty of memories, but i gotta move along. Half-life i'll do in a second, obviously.

hey Chefelf: would Halo run OK on a PIII 8666 / 256 SDRam / 32meg video card?

What about Quake2? Although I doubt anyone owns that one anymore... but that one's fun too!

Alright, folks, I got my new CD Burner today (Sony CRX230A, 52X , very nice), so I'll be setting up some info on when I plan to host the first old-school party. It won't be for some time, so if anyone needs the game, someone can send you a copy of the CD.
