You know, it's great fun to see forum members arguing with each other. You know why? 'Cos it's completely pointless. Nobody is going to solve anything except make the others laugh about it. I'm not saying we should live in peace and harmony, but we should stick to piss-taking of one-another. It's fun AND educational!

On the note of writing an internet author to commend his works, I've done so three times before.
The first time, I didn't get a reply. *shrug*
The second time, I argued with the author for about a week, both of us making valid points, until I learned that he is now a performance poet, and we swapped poetry. I got some good criticism out of it, but in poetry I think he concentrates on different areas and is far better than me in said areas, so to try to return the favour would've been sloppy. We've only chatted once or twice since.
The third time, I caught the author in the middle of depression and chatted with him about life for a while before I realized we lived in the same area, (within 450 kilometres . . . ) and actually have plans to meet the guy in person when I get back home after the summer, (studying abroad currently).
So long as what you write is half-way intelligent, I think most internet authors would be pleased to hear from a reader/listener/appreciator.
