Make love, not war or do both and get married.
"I felt insulted until I realized that the people trying to mock me were the same intellectual titans who claimed that people would be thrown out of skyscrapers and feudalism would be re-institutionalized if service cartels don't keep getting political favors and regulations are cut down to only a few thousand pages worth, that being able to take a walk in the park is worth driving your nation's economy into the ground, that sexual orientation is a choice that can be changed at a whim, that problems caused by having institutions can be solved by introducing more institutions or strengthening the existing ones that are causing the problems, and many more profound pearls of wisdom. I no longer feel insulted because I now feel grateful for being alive and witnessing such deep conclusions from my fellows."
-Jimmy McTavern, 1938.

The server room's air conditioner is venting in my office, causing general overheatedness and dizzification. Woo.

The sky is blue because of the blueberries. Don't let them lie to you. Don't. let. them.
"The problem is, you're not a kangaroo... that's a bear... and he's in your pants."
"Maybe artists shouldn't talk about their art."
"Well kids, I guess your father isn't a hermaphrodite."
"Izzy! enough with the rabid smootching!!"

Wait a minute! If the sky is blue because of blueberries, then why do muffins and pancakes turn purple when they are infected with blueberries?

The ozone in the atmosphere oxidizes the purple pigment in the blueberries, leaving only the blue. Duh.

Is there anything like a flat tire discovered five seconds before a vacation?

No, I don't think there is.
When in doubt, plead sarcasm.

What I love is that no matter how long I may be away for, I can come back and find that this thread, started by a man that no longer comes by the forum and whom I have never met, despite hoping that some day I do get the opportunity too, always remains on the front page of the forum and is frequented by some people I always look forward to seeing.

And is that possibly the worst sentence in the history of the English language? If not please let me know as I have some work to do for my next entry.

Hello lovelies! My random thought is why on earth do I always end up having such long periods of absence despite my best intentions to stay current?

Barend I am so overdue on a view of Shock Treatmentthat I am embarressed to even raise it othr than to site my extremely poor form.

Nate, I am so pleased that I can always come back here and find this place in such good form!

True, Supes. This thread is like that comfy couch your friend owns that you can always crash on when you're in town.

It's a Supes! I'm telling you again to stick around, and please listen this time! These forums have seen a distinct lack of you, like usual. It is not a good thing. sad.gif

I'd love to contribute a PRT, but I've got nothing right now. pinch.gif

How about getting a flat tire on the New York State Thruway driving a gigantic van that you've only driven once before and you don't even have your license yet?

I don't offer to help drive on vacation anymore.

Arien: I-90 for the win oooohhh yeeeeaaaa-uuuhhh!

Nah, seriously, what part of NYS do you live in? I'm near exit 33 in Thruway terms. Right in the middle of the state.

PRT: Why do they shorten through to thru in many contemporary English compound words?
