Can't say I've read or seen a single one, but not for not wanting to.
In fact, I mean to watch most of them coming right up here.
But the titles of nearly every film are known to all, and since the Haiku (if one could call it that) began with the line You Only Live Twice, I gathered that was the book/movie it was from.

I've always meant to, but never have, watched the movie series in the order of the books. You know, it'd be interesting: Casino Royale, Live and Let Die, Moonraker, Diamonds are Forever, From Russia with Love, Dr. No, Goldfinger, For Your Eyes Only, Thunderball, The Spy Who Loved Me, On Her Majesty's Secret Service, You Only Live Twice, Octopussy, The Living Daylights.
It'd be interesting to see how the films flow in their book order.

And I agree, it would be cool to watch them in an order than gives you a different Bond nearly every time you change the movie.
Would you recommend the movies or the books first?

The 2006 version; 1967's Royale is unofficial.
Would you recommend the movies or the books first?
You mean, which one you'd experience first? The books, of course; just to see what a varied experience the movies are.

No. David is too much of a man to play a womanizing alcoholic who constantly murders people and even has a licence to do so.

You’re not going to try and refute my claim that Bond is a “womanizing alcoholic who constantly murders people and even has a licence to do so”?

No, that's pretty much true.
Eccleston's played more batshit-crazy characters than both David Tennant and Paul McGann combined; he'd be perfect as Bond.
