I know it's not LOTR, and maybe this guy wasn't an orc,
but the rancor trainer was pretty ridiculous.

wink.gif Right, so then the woman said back to me "I'd rather sell my SOW than eat salad!"

Anyway, Barend I got the first quotation on a website on Draconology --yes it is a proper science!-- I shall endeavor to locate the address for you. The second is something that I said based on what I read there --I know, I know, you really can not "Quote" yourself.

Hebbecus, you just need something to complain about, do you not?!!!

wow, It felt good to do that again...

I used to that all the time.. People who theorize about something, then I'd interveine with a "well actually, it dates back to the ottoman empire when people used latvien potato peelers for skining dragon fies..." or som shit and string everone along for about ten minutes... then as soon as someone one say "wow, really?" (all exited they'd learnt something new) and just go "no, not really..."

god, it was fun.

Just wondering, does anyone else get really irritated when shops put super sticky price tags on CDs and DVDs that are difficult to remove and always leave a sticky spot on the otherwise clean case that never quite goes away?

This shits me. When you are spending good money on something that's going to be part of your collection, you want the case to be in good condition. Sure, the condition of the case doesn't affect the quality of the CD or DVD it contains but I still want it to be in mint condition.

These stickers wreck cases. The other day, I bought some DVDs and they had these super super sticky metalic security stickers. And they were multilayered and not made as a single piece - they were a bitch to get off and they left indentations on the nice cardboard cover. The DVD cases was cardboard! And they still fucking stickers on them.

But the stupidest part is that most of these things come in a plastic wrapper. So here's an idea that retailers could try, to be a little bit more considerate of their customers -

they could put the stickers on the removable plastic wrapper!

Felt good to get that off my chest.

Okay - next point. Gleffnork, I'm sure you're a nice guy and all... but I agree with Heccubus about your signature. It's ridiculous. Get rid of it.

Regards,

- Movie Goer

Oh my god, it's great to know that I'm not alone. I refuse to purchase used CDs from one of the indie record stores in Hamilton because they use ultra-sticky labels on them, and I have to use a cleaning solution to remove it. I can't STAND that stuff! Even if you get all of the sticker off, it usually leaves a sticky residue that takes weeks to wear off.
I also hate it when stores repackage and resell returned merchandise. The plastic that they re-wrap them in is absolutely horrid to open. Even moreso than the regular stuff.

Ah, thanks Heccubus. I'm glad I'm not alone either. And yes! I have had to use tough cleaning solution too to scrub that stuff off and on some CDs I've bought, the residue never really goes away at all.

And Look to the Sky, I hear your qualms about work stories. I don't like them because they're about... work. And I think that work kind of takes up too much of our time as it is. I certainly don't want to hear anything involved with that awful 'w' word in my free time.
