Best one I've seen in ages. I love the game but he's right about most of the issues. If you can overlook the shit parts it's fantastic but they're somewhat persistent.

And I actually thought that the DVD bit was a great idea. Maybe they knew from an early time that they had way too much in the game to be able to polish it all up properly and still get it out this year that they added the function to allow you to skip anything you weren't enjoying.

Additionally I thought the bit where you set fire to all of those evil tree cock things was the best part of the game.

I love how it says "I'M GAY" in giant letters at the end of the credits, then goes to yahtzee talking-well, more like miming about balls in his mouth. The end bits are the best.

I always liked Alone In the Dark as a funky survival Horror series. It wasn't perfect and I wasn't looking for one.

The last sequence however reminded me of another critic. That Guy With the Glasses. They look a bit similar. The difference between em is that one doesn't go on camera much while the other one is filming all the time.

And one more thing. Does sexual frustration really makes you suck big sweaty & salty balls?

"So has the music grown on you yet?"

Whether it grows or not isn't the point. It's not that it's bad. It's that the song choice jokes were funny, and this title animation is not.

I miss the funny song choices. crying.gif

This week's ZP was well rounded and funny. The translation was great.

I would even go a step further and say that the Intro music is actually quite good.
But, yes, having various songs at the beginning and the end was funny and better.
And orginal, I think it was orginal. Does anyone know of some show that did something like that?

I was probably gonna buy Alone in the Dark, but now it just wouldn't seem right. It sounds so bad in Yahtzee's words, but it could still be good, like Bioshock was despite Yahtzee reviewing it.

Anyone know if Alone in the Dark is good?

Well I like it and if you can overlook it's numerous physics glitches then I feel it's a very enjoyable game.
But then again I'm from QA and after spending 12 hours a day playing games that don't work you become somewhat more forgiving about glitches.

Yahtzee said various good things about Bioshock among the nitpicking.

"It's probably one of the best games of the year."

"...it's not bad, it's just shallower than was advertised."

"Playing this game makes me look back on my time with [Bioshock] all the more fondly."

And the fact the main character can fire bees from his hands, he loved that.

I think this review was right on base. I have seen this game, not played it, but I could tell from some of the retarded glitches that the physics engine was sub-par. Also, just as a note, I think the new intro music is pretty freaking sweet!

Intro music is fine, but I think most people are lamenting the jokes that went along with the song choices. It does look a lot more professional now, though, except that once the intro is done it still looks like Windows Movie Maker cheapo animation, although that isn't a bad thing. Kind of like when Mystery Science Theater 3000 got a bigger budget but kept the whole cowtown puppet show/B-movie feel.

Thanks, I think I'm gonna buy AITD sometime soon.
Also, I took your advice about the whole link thing.
