Update:

http://www.cad-forum...ead.php?t=90513

CAD comic goers start a thread already.

"i like him, hes a funny guy...but theres no reason for him to make fun of something just cause he doesnt like it. "

Update:

Buckley has already locked said thread:

"Everyone is entitled to their opinions."

So Yahtzee is going to be in a CAD comic soon I hope.

Anyways that was probably his greatest review in a long time. Game Over's pants are going to explode watching this im sure.

It's basically the same stuff that gets repeated a billion other times around the internet, but it bears repeating.

It was amusing.

xD I don't think I make enough drama get any notoriety on my webcomics. *sits around being bland*

Now I don't like CAD and I am not defending it but here goes. It's the same damn things that's been said a million times before and Yahtzee saying it in a more rapid manner then others doesn't really bring much to the discussion.

But then he was more then aware of how many of these faults apply to him so no charges can be made there. I do like him doing something other then gaming though.

Just because these observations have been noted before doesn't mean they are less relevant or important to disseminate. In fact, as far as I'm concerned, every website should have its own section on why CAD sucks. If that were the case (and if I were an optimist/didn't think a vast majority of the population on Earth consists of sheep-brained mongoloids) we'd have a lot fewer people attempting to cash in on the success of Penny Arcade.

Besides, there may be those precious few souls who enjoy CAD and need to be told why they shouldn't. I know if I liked CAD I would want somebody to explain to me why I was wrong.

I thought this one was funny, but maybe that is because I came late to the game and I haven't looked too far into the whole Yahtzee VS CAD thing. (I do remember his "good webcomic" checklist or something... so I guess I only sort of remember it...)

As a webcomic writer myself (who apparently doesn't have enough drama to be popular, either.) I kinda feel bad for not noticing the whole "girl characters actually resemble their moms" thing. It is so clear now!

Is it doesn't derail the topic too much (or when we get to the eventual derail anyway), are there comics out there you guys actually like or are the all scum? biggrin.gif

As Tim Buckley's former bitch/slave laborer I would like to say, as a straight man, who is entirely comfortable in his own sexuality, Ben Croshaw, if you should require a man to put your balls in their mouth I will willingly oblige because that was the greatest broadside to the Battleship that is Buckley's Ego that ever was and ever will be, and god damn has it been a long time coming.

Seriously, Buckley is such a fuckwit sometimes that even Penny Arcade, they of the riches created a character through which to attack him (See R.H. Franzibald). He's not the worst guy in the world but he's so up his own ass that its about time someone kicked him in it, with any luck his head might pop through his abdomen and he'll be able to see his shit for what it is in all its glory.

And if you're ever in the market for a bitch/slave laborer I've had some experience.

Edit: I'm glad Yahtzee did this for two reasons, one, the catharsis of seeing a former boss publicly, wittily, and accurately eviscerated, and two, that Buckley NEEDS to be eviscerated in such a public fashion. Yes it has been said before, but this has far wider reach and might spark the discussion on the man that might finally force him to change his ways, and not with dead baby comics.

As for genuinely good webcomics, the ones I read with any frequency are Penny Arcade, Applegeeks, more because I respect the people who do that comic and as someone said in the other thread, there should be an Amnesty International for Ex-CADites. I read XKCD and Questionable Content, though the latter's quality is up for debate.

My favorites are Achewood, Something Positive, and XKCD, however. Also, while I don't read PvP I respect Scott Kurtz for being a two-fisted son of a bitch who is willing to deck Buckley should the need arise.

@_@ There's webcomics I like, though I don't think I read that many gaming comics... *bookmarks folder be mess* Though y'know that "90% of everything sucks" rule... Especially with things online since it doesn't take much to slap something onto a free website...

>_> I commit so many webcomic sins with Ask Altair whenever I actually ponder it... though... I'm a girl... so my stupid nerd pattern is a little different... vaguely...

I just want to say good on Yahtzee for doing something different then what he's been doing. Call me crazy but the normal ZPs were getting old.

No doubt many people got burned who deserved it and I look forward to seeing Webcomic Dramatists futilely attempt to wage war against Yahtzees hordes of crazed fanboys. I don't think anyone besides Penny Arcade can stand up to the Yahtz in terms of popularity right now, and while I'm a girl always up to watch a good bloodbath, odds are most of them won't even try.

And Kax, you lack the Messiah Complex that's mandatory for Yahtzee's accusations to really apply to you. "Ask Altair" only lampooned one game and didn't pretend to be anything other then what it was.
It's not stalking! It's artistic reference!
