He's got it right about the voice acting. I was so underwhelmed by it that I mostly went around killing everyone as covertly as I could to avoid getting caught.

Yeah, how hard would it have been to get some other actors? At least have the stable of actors you've got try to do some different voices once in a while!

Still, it kept my interest from start to finish and then some.

At least Sean Bean did some good voices.

A friend of mine got sucked into that game for a long time. From what I saw it looked fun, at least, but even the little bit I saw lets me agree on the need for more voices. Heh.

I liked the amount of animation in ZP this time! The cutting off of the legs and being sucked into the game were well done.

Heh. One of my favorite things about WoW is the fast travel system. It's good for taking screencaps, BSing with friends, or you know, getting that small bit of food you forgot to eat for the last 10+ hours.

+1 to the feelings about bad voice acting.
Love playing Oblivion, great fun playing about doing whatever you like. I always go for mixed classes of magic and combat, because I can't stand feeling like I might be missing out on something by choosing one over the other.

I particularly liked the animation for "the lines are so badly written and awkwardly delivered ."

I think there were only five voice actors in oblivion because bethesda spent such fucktons of money to hire Patrick Stewart, Sean Bean, and Terrence Stamp. Morrowind beats Oblivion in voice acting by far, even though there was much much less of it.

Not being English, a lot of the English references went right over my head. That's alright I guess, just meant I didn't have the tools to laugh at those jokes. Most of my chuckles this time were thanks to the visual gags, which Yahtzee has gotten a lot better at lately. I'll be watching it again for those alone.

Anglo-Australian...I wonder if Yahtzee intends to live in Australia for the rest of his life. Once you reach your late 20s you're supposed to be mated and settled, according to most people's biological clocks, and after 30 unless your job is "travel writer" or "war contractor" you're not likely to do much moving.

Maybe that's the reason for all the England jokes: kind of a self-conscious goodbye.

I'll stop with the annoying speculation about stuff that really doesn't concern me now. unsure.gif

On a completely unrelated note, the Daily Show has an British guy on it now. They did a funny bit about drinking in the tubes. It was funneh.

It's not stalking! It's artistic reference!

If they had had the Morrowind voice actors for Oblivion, it would have been sooooo awesome. I still wish they'd kept the greetings.

Sunned an warm, Marshbrother/sister. <-- Argonian
May you walk on warm sands. <-- Khajjit

Also, the fruity male Bosmer voices appeared far too much in Oblivion. The only thing I can think of that excuses the Dunmer from sounding like people living in a blighted land like Vvardenfell is the lack of such environment in Cyrrodil.

And don't get me started on the Lore flaws.

Oh good, this is aptly timed as I'd been hearing a lot of good things about Oblivion recently, particularly about its big terrain - but I trust Yahtzee's word more than a lot of others and if he says it's cut-n-paste then I won't bother trying.

Well, I think if you want a less cut-n-paste Oblivion, you should get the expansion Shiver Isle. That was freakin' fantastic.

Yahtzee obviously didn't find the mace that sets people on fire on impact.
That is obviously something you cannot avoid mentioning if you know about.

Sounds like standard fantasy game gear to me. Like singing swords, or morningstars/flails with modular heads.

Glastenbury. Always gets fucked at the end by the heavy rain and the awful amount of garbage tossed around. Always bring boots and condoms.

Though, the music is always great.
