Trends come and go. I can still recall many trends of fashion. Some were cool, some were bizarre, some things I always wanted and never got.

Things I thought were cool:

Mossimo shirts, Yaga shirts, those canvas yarn poncho shirts, girbaud jeans, icewashed/frosted jeans, the nikes with the manual air pump, overall shorts, cross color shirts, big johnson shirts, leather jacket with braided lapels

things i loathed:

tongue rings, people who wore dog collars, doc martens, wallets with huge metal chains on them, girls that wore black lipstick with metallic silver traced around their lips, people who pierce their earlobe big enough to lodge a cheerio in there, people who pierce their teeth (yes,.i have seen this), the leather sandals with excessive straps..always thought they looked like a pain to put on, people that wear the widebrim frame glasses that look retro 60's-ish like they bought their glasses from a Brady Bunch yard sale. anything to do with duckhead brand, people that wore their pants backwards (remember Kriss Kross?). Jnco jeans

things i wanted, but never got:

generra hyper color shirts that changed color with body temperature, starter jacket with favorite team on it

I have always ignored fashion for most part.

I've been wearing mostly black since age 9.

The ultimate in douchebag fashion for me has always been people who leave the tags on their hat. What the fuck is that? I mean I don't really understand, is it supposed to look like you put it on in the store and just walked out with it? Even now, when people buy New Eras they leave the golden sticker on the brim. It looks ridiculous.
And oh yeah, those fucking tacky, giant 60s-style designer sunglasses. It's fucking over people. Take them off. You look like an insect. That look should have never come back to begin with.

C'mon Barend. Wearing mostly black isn't unique; that's a trend all its own. Trenchcoat in summer too, right? I saw The Cure last night at GM PLace (local hockey stadium), and you would have fit right in.

Anyway, I am too old for this topic. The stuff I wore in high school shall not be spoken of. And let's not talk about the hair.

If I've got your age right, that'd be the 80s, no? If that's the case then you should note that the 80s have been gradually coming back in a few ways.

Yeah, folks are into the 80s in some ways, true, but nostalgia is always so forgiving. A lot of that clothing will never be repeated.

I can't help it if all those people are copying me.

God, the 80s comeback. It was inevtiable but I've been dreading it for too long. I already saw a guy at the liquor store with an 80s style topiary afro. I wish I could will him into a stroke.

I have a thing for retro Ray Bans and Reeboks. So the 80s comeback was welcome in some ways, for me.

If I saw someone walking down the street dressed like that, I would consider myself entitled, nay, obliged to follow them around making fun of them loudly and obnoxiously all day.

Example:
Maybe if you spent less time on your hair and makeup in the morning you'd actually find time to get laid once in a while.

Etc, etc, etc.

They would either ignore you because they would be getting laid heaps for looking some awsomely 80s or they would poke out your eyes with their pointy hair.

I'd also like to see 19th outrages facial hair of the brittish military come back in vogue.
