That's a clear sign of habitual behaviour. You're a cheapskate and you like to throw blame around to other people when you mess up. Stop all that.

Well, for a moment there I was worried you might actually have a valid argument that somehow I just didn't get. But pff, you make three assumptions about me based on a stupid short story that happened last week.

I'm gonna let this topic go, and I'll stop fighting on this issue ... for now. One of these days you will find yourself with 15$ in your pocket and no place to sleep (or some other impossible-to-get-out-of situation) and then we can open this topic again and continue talking about it, k?
I know that you believe you understood what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you read is not what I meant.

I'm not sure how back-water this city is, but in my city and others like it, there are atm machines littered everywhere. Banks have made it possible to get cash on demand. (i never want to see the amount i've paid in total for service charges---ATM whore here)

It appears that you've set yourself up for a disaster, so your post reads like a rant against a cruel and unfair world when thats not the case. You didn't carry cash, search for an ATM, or consider money an issue until the repair man finished his job (even though you were told by the operator you'd have to pay the man for his time). You ripped off a technician who went out of his way to help you so you could sleep in a soft bed instead of a car.

The thing about inconsiderate people is they never acknowledge what they've done. More often than not, they'll see themselves as the victims.

I gave him the 15$ and smartly winked at him, as if I was passing him a 100$ bill.

That was the comment that did it for me. It tells me you were aware you ripped him off, but no big deal. So I'm not sure why you hate the city when you got what you wanted in the end and for cost.

Yeah, there he got a dig in on retards too. Like, maybe the guy won't react to me giving him fuck all for his time if I pretend I don't realise what a cheapskate I'm being.

I'm pretty sure in the story I read he arrived on the scene in a car. I mean, I guess this is Romania, but I find it hard to believe they don't have ATMs or that people without credit cards routinely go on business trips with no money and no way to get it.

No Prostitute or cabaret act was ever going to let you stretch $15 very far anyway.

I never make an 8-hour drive with $15 in my pocket; I started carrying more money than that on trips when I started making trips.

And at that point I'd just say "fuck this city" and immediately everything would be fixed as I gave the offending metropolitan area what for.

I wasn't happy about it, and I didn't feel fine about it. And I hated the city a long time before I dropped my keys.

I know I said I woudn't post anymore but geez, will you stop it already? I have no ideea what kind of money you guys make, but I guess you never ended up in a situation where you simply didn't have enough money on hand, did you? Well, good for you then. To me it has happened , and it has happened more than once. I simply cannot afford to have 200$ on me at all times, and ATM machines are not so common place in a residential neighbourhood.

15$ is about enough to pay for entrance to a cabaret.. maybe you can get a soda if it's a really cheap place. If you are willing to drop the entertainment, you can actually get about 7 - 8 beers with that kind of money.
Don't know about the current prostitute rates, but I imagine something involving hands can be worked on for 15$.

Ow. Are you an elevator repair guy in your spare time civ? While your point about checking your wallet is well made (I do the same thing several times compulsively before I spend money on anything) you seem to have taken this more personally than someone who just read about it on the internet should.

Oh my God I didn't see this post before. Sorry Casual if you thought I'd ignored it. No, I don't repair elevators. I just wanted to wind this guy up because ... well, you've read my posts. You know why.

So theres stuff in the past that justifies your hatred of the city? That's kind of interesting. What was it?

This kind of reminds me of the time Thursday did that song about how much they hate New Brunswick. Of course, that one was because the lead singer's girlfriend got raped, so he moved there to console her, but she felt guilty and couldnt stand to look at him anymore and ended up killing herself. Though there might have been a line about an elevator in it.

A decent beer (Carlsberg, Heineken, dunno) is about 2$ max.
And it's generally more expensive in that fk. city, and a bit cheaper where I live.

You can get one of those girls waiting for druck drivers at gas stations for anywhere from 15$ to 50$, depending if they had a good day or not.
More classy gals, will charge starting from 100$ but it can go about as high as you want.

You think you've got it bad. A stabbed guy came to my house the other day. Stabbed. He lived, but I'm pretty sure he's gonna get arrested because the other guy got stabbed in the back, twice.

I like elevators. If I got stuck in one, I would probably just take a nap until someone noticed the elevator wasn't working. Naps fix everything. wink.gif Naps are nature's way of telling you that maybe, for an hour, the world WOULD be a better place without you.
