DS Adventure Games! Not necessarily Yahtzee talk. Stay out if that's not your thing.

Something about Pheonix Wright really bugs me.

I wasn't much exposed to the DS and was more a PSP guy. I might buy a DS on summer. Looks fun.

Some girls at the Japanese dept. are playing Pokémon on DS now. It's the new fad. Kind of creepy, I mean, 23-year-old people getting all enthusiastic about trading their virtual pets.

If I was a Ragee singer, I would sing a song about playing with their "Poghemans".

Yeah, I don't like them Wapanese, but we all need some minoreties to exterminate beside the Furries for the next few years. Just let them grow in numerbs for now.

David-Kyo, to be fair, I've been way too addicted to The World Ends With You. A lot of the game revolves around trading pins (basically give you different psychic abilities) until you have a full set. My best friend just bought the game (in spite of both of our general hatred for over-stylized anime) and now he's hooked, too. I never thought I'd be this interested in something similar to Pokemon.

It's not the kind of thing that you know is going to happen to you going into the game. When I bought the cartridge, I took it home and started playing. I went from "Yawn, typical anime stuff, boring" to "Whoops, forgot dinner and sleep" in less than 24 hours.

I still think that the style is kind of "mehhhhh" but the gameplay is there. In addition, it's the only game out on DS that could ONLY be done on DS, and maximizing the potential of a system counts for a lot in my book.

EDIT: Oh, and Game Over: Give Phoenix Wright a try if you end up grabbing a DS, at least the very first one. If you hate it, you've only wasted a little time and 20 bucks (pounds, whatever). But I've never heard of anyone thinking the Ace Attorney games were mediocre -- they either hated having to read a lot of text or absolutely loved the twisty-turny stories.

Also, let me apologize for my increase in average post length. I promise I don't intend to be this wordy when I start writing.

I didn't mean to come across as disapproving, it's refreshing to see GIRLS actually playing GAMES, I mean, I'd never thought that possible.

Although it definitely seems a bit weird.

Yeah, until they make a video game about not having sex with men I can't see it being anything other than weird.

You know "The Sims" could fall into that, depending on your play style...

I've wanted to write a book... "We Exist" It would be all sorts of tales from the POV of girl gamers.

I'd love to see a solo type, story driven puzzle/point and click a la Myst for the DS. Obviously with a cool story and an immersive environment.

Mandy -- Get Professor Layton. It's probably the best game that could ever be done in that type of genre. Also, even after you beat it, they release weekly puzzles every Sunday that download to your DS.
