I didn't realise that quadrilogy was a proper English word. I believe 4 books which make a set is called tetralogy.

You are both late and terribly annoying. Please, next time, look through the topics, all of them if you must, and post in an appropriate place before pissing off the local populace.
This discussion is over. It had been done once before. We resolved that it was a tetralogy and that no one would care to remember that, so just call it the John Defoe Quadrilogy.
Naturally, it's a part of the Chzo Mythos.
Gonna pick at that too?

And, I'm not even going to let you slide without one well chosen blatant possible ban stirring abuse. So I'm choosing this one.

What our good friend Patch means to say is that tetralogy is not commonly used for collections of works. For instance, a Shakespeare play divided into four parts would be a tetralogy. Four different and complete works that may or may not be part of the story but are linked by a common theme/world are called a quadrilogy.

From reference.com:

"The word 'tetralogy' is not commonly used in the marketing of collections of works. The term 'quadrilogy' has also been used, basing the prefix on Latin Quadri instead of Greek. The musical term 'quartet' is also used, as well as 'legacy.' The Alien and Batman series, each consisting of four films, have been released in collections titled The Alien Legacy and The Batman Legacy. The Alien and Die Hard series have also been released in sets under the title The Alien Quadrilogy and The Die Hard Quadrilogy."

Josh, I am fairly surprised by your showing of those things commonly called "patience" and "manners". Did you not realize you were on the internet? wink.gif

Smooth.

Too many forum threads devolve into name-calling and idiocy. Even if it means I'm one against many, I'd rather push against this particular stream than let it carry me off.

Patch got owned by a couple of n00bs!
"I felt insulted until I realized that the people trying to mock me were the same intellectual titans who claimed that people would be thrown out of skyscrapers and feudalism would be re-institutionalized if service cartels don't keep getting political favors and regulations are cut down to only a few thousand pages worth, that being able to take a walk in the park is worth driving your nation's economy into the ground, that sexual orientation is a choice that can be changed at a whim, that problems caused by having institutions can be solved by introducing more institutions or strengthening the existing ones that are causing the problems, and many more profound pearls of wisdom. I no longer feel insulted because I now feel grateful for being alive and witnessing such deep conclusions from my fellows."

Hardly noobs but, okay.

What I don't understand is no one seemed to care that it was a joke.

A 'douche' says 'Dickface' in a sentence.
Otherwise I wouldn't have said something so elaborate as;

QUOTE

But hey, if I'm a douche I'm a douche. A mod spoke to me and at the time I was humble enough to apologise. I came onto this thread, honestly surprised by the number of replies, and read all thats been said. Now I'm not so humble.

But you know what, I would've stopped if it had stopped before this:

QUOTE
Christ man, what is wrong with you?

That really annoys me. Sure, you may have been saying it as a joke, but I'm gonna take it to heart, as thats the trend. No, I won't, that's me being a douche again. There is northing wrong with me. To suggest there is (and to seem like thats a bad thing) is more offensive then calling someone dickface. What if I had tourettes? You would feel pretty embarrassed.

Or maybe I'm taking it too literal. Maybe you just were also implying I'm a douche, like Papas. So you're either saying 'What are you, mentally disabled?' or 'I think what you said was wrong and I'm getting back at you without swearing.' Because I know you don't care what's wrong with me.

Edit: I've calmed down enough to apologise, if you care. It's on Green Lego's user page under comments.
