Good to see you too.

I'm sorry, I've long given up caring for any aspect of the SW universe outside the original trilogy. I was happier just imagining what else was going on.

But seriously, Jabbas son getting kidnapped AND Yoda giving a shit about it? I really can't begin to comprehend what manner of madness led him down that path... George Lucas is like that crazy preacher from Deadwood.

haha....why do some people jump to the conclusion that people who hate this shit had their minds made up prematurely? It's a rhetorical question, folks. Just thinking out loud.

well junior, when every response in the thread so far is bordering on vitriol (people holding in vomit is usually a sign of disgust), I can make the assumption that nobody likes the shit. I'm not thinking out loud anymore, btw.

My feelings exactly. I thought that maybe, just maybe, Lucas wouldn't be very involved in this movie and we might get to see something interesting (like KOTOR). When Yoda delivers that second line in the trailer, I knew we were gonna be screwed again. I felt the same physical nausea when they first mentioned Midichlorians in Episode One...

Calm down man. I think most people round here are willing to give any Star Wars project the benefit of the doubt, as you should be able to tell from most posts. However, Lucas recent track record doesn't inspire much hope.

And when the plot revolves around the kidnapping of Jabba Jr. and how this would affect the war in a major way, sorry, it's just a horribly awful idea. Hence the vitriol.

(Junior? What are you, like 50? smile.gif )

A Jedi knight was probably taken prisoner and Jabba knows where he/she/it is but wont tell Yoda because his son happens to be kidnapped and Jabba was waiting for the perfect opportunity to tell someone.
"I felt insulted until I realized that the people trying to mock me were the same intellectual titans who claimed that people would be thrown out of skyscrapers and feudalism would be re-institutionalized if service cartels don't keep getting political favors and regulations are cut down to only a few thousand pages worth, that being able to take a walk in the park is worth driving your nation's economy into the ground, that sexual orientation is a choice that can be changed at a whim, that problems caused by having institutions can be solved by introducing more institutions or strengthening the existing ones that are causing the problems, and many more profound pearls of wisdom. I no longer feel insulted because I now feel grateful for being alive and witnessing such deep conclusions from my fellows."
-Jimmy McTavern, 1938.

meh. I'm indifferent. Jabbas son..... I mean, a Hutt is a living, breathing life form, and all life forms have the ability to reproduce, so that part doesnt bother me. As far as using it as a plot device, yeah, I suppose it's a little lame. But I try to look at the bigger picture instead of focusing on small hiccups. It's a cartoon movie for Christ sakes. I'm just hoping to be entertained for an hour and a half.

The movies are a different story though. Damn you, Lucas.

one more thing.....alot of people forget that going to a Star Wars movie is really, really fun event. Even if the product we come to see doesnt turn out as well as we'd hoped, there's still a great time to be had surrounded by geeks draped in dusty makeshift Jedi robes, laughably bad Sith facepaint, and Darth Vader masks while wielding a $99.99 lightsaber from Books A Million. happy.gif

How long would you wager he waited?

Don't remember seeing Jabba's sone hanging around the palace in ROTJ either... I mean if Boba Fett was hanging around, then surley, you know.

Guessing he doesn't make it.

I'm not focusing on small hicups... but you know what hic-ups are like... one or two, sure... but you don't want them for hours.

I'm not opposed to jabba making with a chick and producing offspring, I just think he's a seperate faction in an evershrinking universe... Yoda's a social whore now. Friends with chewbacca, concearn for jabba's so-

Why does he even know who jabba is at all? Jabba and chewbacca are part of Han Solo's background. Not vader and Yodas... it's just silly. I imagine that Cloud City lunch with vader. leia, bobbafett, chewbacca, and Solo, must have been a long one with much to catch up on. It's like he's roping in every character he can get.

the OT is happy days, and this other stuff is like Lavern and Shirly and everyone but the fonz is turning up, and it was he who introduced everyone. (solo being the fonz).

Don't get me wrong it should be reasonably entertaining... it's not like I went to the PT frowning with my arms crossed. When you're getting blasted with awsome sound FX it's a little easier to ignore these things and it's hard to be upset when gobbling popcorn with your friends. But much like sleeping with someone you shouldn't have you don't realize until afterwards just how wrong th ewhole thing was adn you feel kind of dirty.

So is this a recap assembly of the clone wars series or what?

music seems a little dramatic for the visually cartoonish style they've chosen. And I see Anakin and Dooku have fought again between films...?

I'll probably end up seeing this eventually...

Hey, remember how after Episode III we all joked that Lucas probably wished he could make a whole Star Wars movie in CGI?

Yeah.

Looks like the joke's on us.

see I dont even think Star Wars through this thoroughly. I love the franchise, I'm not a fanboy, but I kinda just take it how it goes. But now that you mention it.....is Jabba the only damn Hutt on Tatooine? Surely there are other more powerful gangsters on the planet other than he. If you can give Anakin some bogus ass apprentice, why not just create a new Hutt, someone who rivals Jabba? Arghgh! I hate thinking! Thinking make Storm Shadow angry!

LOL! It's a small galaxy...

The problem with Jabba began in RotJ. Galactic crimelord Jabba lives on Tatooine. On Tattooine? WTF, is he shaking down moisture farmers?! Why not a dark, dangerous world like Nar Shadaa in the EU?

But the glaring error is still why Jabba Jr is a concern to the Republic. Jabba the Hutt could actually threaten the entire Jedi Order? The might of the Republic Clone Army?! Bullshit. A newly made Jedi Knight with some friends wiped out Jabba and his entire operation in RotJ.

It's not a hicup I'm afraid. It's George taking a shit.
