Hey, I recognize that guy...that's Sailor Bubba!

This costumer is an inspiration to all right-thinking anime fans, because he doesn't take himself seriously. It takes a special person to turn himself into a public parody, but Sailor Bubba is one of those people. And on top of everything else, he's also crazy enough to be a convention volunteer. It started as a joke at Anime Central in 1999, when Bubba sported a Sailor Moon outfit. Most fans got the joke and enjoyed the parody, and the legend was born.

He goes for the shock value on purpose. As a joke. Because cosplay isn't about how you look, it's all about the cosplayer themselves having fun and not giving a damn what anyone thinks. Yes! I am nerd! HEAR ME ROAR!

By the way, I know that Helena cosplayer, and she made that costume herself. No one paid her to wear it.

Anyone attend? I Was there on saturday walked past this tall strapping man with a trilby hat on, and i immeadiatly said to myself, was that Yahtzee? frantically turning aruond to try and see if it was. I Eventually convinced myself it was yahtzee himself. So i come on fullyramblomatic and read in the news he was attending.

So i'm fairly happy. I Met Jewel Staite and Saw Yahtzee. Risky = Very Happy.

Anyone else see Yahtzee/Enjoy gawking at Jewel staite?

Alas, I live in the wrong country (And Continent), unless he ever decides to randomly visit Canada) to ever meet Yahtzee, which might be for the better as I'm sure I'd have nothing more to say to him than "OMG! You're so awesome! Nice hat" which he probably hears a 100 times over in the course of his day.

Y'know, If I was Yahtzee I would get together a horde of tall men with British accents, then give them all trilby hats and send them off to conventions ahead of time. That way by the time the real Yahtzee got there, the place would be so saturated with look-alikes that no one would give him any attention (Or flog him with fan boy/girl love).


And I'm just going to pretend that I never cosplayed as Cloud Strife in a horrid, gel-spiked wig. In all fairness though, I'm not a 300 pound hambeast that salivates over the newest 'Inu-Yasha' volume, I just got sucked into the sheer amusement that is 'Wandering around while people oggle/compliment your costume, while you secretly laugh because you bought the thing in a store and spent no time making it'.

What do you guys think of South Park?

I Quite like South Park and now we're talking about Anime and South park i immediately think of the Episode 'Good Times With Weapons' where they change the animation style for half the ep and butters takes a shuriken in the eye.

South Park is amazing... But I've lived without cable all year at school to try and save on money, so sadly I never really watch it any more. It does get preachy, but it's also usually hillarious.

Yes, but Keanu Reeves also comes from Canada, so that's an epic loose right there. And normally I'd add a sentence saying not to generalize Canada as being a 'Snowy place', but there's about ten centimeters of the stuff outside my window preventing me from wagging my finger.

And South Park is awesome, although I haven't been able to keep up on the newest episodes (The TV's in University residence don't have many channels). I have been able to see the Imaginationland episodes, which should be considered awesome if only for all the background cameos.
