Alrighty, enough with the Steve Irwin Jokes please. Irwin was a good guy.

Anyone listen to the new Australian Gamer Podcast? We've got a bad reputation... they do realize the hair thing was a joke, right?

Eh, well, they seem like good guys.

Yay!
I'm not quite as internet famous as you are Dreamer, but I'll get there.

Anyway, Yug, Matt, when you guys peruse this forum again, please not that the comment was part of a discussion, which stemmed from Yahtzee's confessed awkwardness around fans, on how a fan could potentially make it worse for him.

And in case either you guys or Yahtzee fear it is truely my desire in a Freudian sort of way, then Yahtzee has nothing to fear as I am an Ocean away from him.

And I guess all of that being true, I can't begrudge them too much to try and get a laugh from an anonymous third party that couldn't be arsed to care about the true story anyway. I laughed, whatever.

I'm new to these lands, but I saw those pictures of Yahtzee being mobbed by fans, and thought I'd have a go. My apologies, I suck at Photoshop, and had to use GIMP anyway.

Pretty good.
I think your leg vice grip was pretty effective looking, good thing you didn't overuse the bug eyes.

I might draw something myself in a bit... I want something on an epic scale, like those classic movie posters:

Oh, wait.
I'm done already.

... I of course recreated the original artwork with Oil on Canvas, and then scanned it into my computer.

I did not use MS paint. Ohhh no no no no no.

"Never let the truth get in the way of a good story," as my Nana used to say. It's not about you specifically at that point anyway, and besides, if you're not willing to step back and just laugh at yourself, you could really go nuts.

If we weren't all crazy we would go insane.

If I were going to say something to Yug and Matt, I'd say "Congratulations! Having a Brit on your show instantly raises your credibility by at least a point, which is TRUTH even when the Brit in question is a drunk, swearing, unsteady, irreverent smart-ass like yours was. Still, you guys seem like cool guys and if I'm ever in Australia I'll totally buy you a case of beer.
,
Maybe I'm just biased because one of them (not sure which one) seemed impressed by my Quick Drawing Skillz! Despite what Yahtzee said I only spotted him once when I drew the realistic-ish picture. Not sure if that makes me even more weird, but when you're better at recognizing someone's walk then someone's face, it's hard to get weirder.

To the average person, recognising someone by their walk rather than their face would seem weird. But not me. I know someone who regularly dresses up as Jack Sparrow for no particular reason, and I can pick him out of a crowd by his shoes.

Everyone has their own distinctive walk. I have fairly poor eyesight, and glasses with an old prescription, and as such I usually pick a friend out of a crowd at a long distance by the way the carry themselves way before I can ever make out the details of their face.

I for instance, have been told that I walk like Shaggy from Scooby-Doo.

The Shaggy walk is usually pretty relaxed, pretty casual in a hands-in-pockets way. Which isn't to say it's the same as Hands In Pockets: that denotes a certain kind of relaxed reservation.

Neurotic People always lead with their head, always keeping their neck tense and shoulders tight. Nervous people walk quickly, always look down, move their arms sharply and widely. Sexy people (or just people who think they are sexy) will walk with their pelvis thrust forwards and their torso pulled back. Proud people keep their chins up and their backs straight. Athletes walk with their legs spread wide, boxers and martial artists keep in full control of their personal space, letting their arms hanging loosely but in control. A woman in high heels, or even just used to wearing them, will snap her ankles, come down hard on her toes, and keep her thighs and butt tight. Confidant people will swing their shoulders a lot and take long strides, shy people will keep their arms close and faces pointed downwards, friendly or social people will keep their shoulders pushed back and chests open (Peter Moleneux did that). People who are used to carrying a bag over one shoulder will habitually swing one arm more then the other, a purse will make someone walk with their arm always bent, backpack people will hunch over.

I didn't get a long look at Yahtzee's walk but it made a strong impression: He walks slouched over (but I don't think I've ever seen someone over 6'1 who didn't slouch) but without any of the apathetic looseness of the Shaggy walk. I joked to Kaxen that he doesn't so much walk as glide weightlessly, a kind of effortless possession. How he does it I was never able to figure out. Richard Williams would be ashamed of me. In his words "I'm an animator, goddamn it, I'm supposed to be good at this!"

In retrospect, I shouldn't have remarked on this strange walk TO Yahtzee. That's a weird, weird thing to tell someone...

Alright then, yeah that's a bit weird... but it's also probably the most interesting thing I've come across all week!

That's quite a talent. I hope no one ever psycho-analyses my walk, that kind of stuff scares and confuses me.

Don't worry, if I learned anything at all it's that you keep those kinds of observations to yourself. You have nothing to fear Reklaimer! happy.gif

Going back to the Podcast:

"America's due to come down a few Notches." And that story about the guns.

England has roughly 50 gun-related deaths a year. Australia: around 200. The USA: 30,000. On average. Give or take a few thousand.

England tightened it's gun control laws after four young men were shot one night in London. Five gun related homicides is a good night in Philadelphia. An unbelievable god-sent myth of a night in LA.

It's easy to make the obvious conclusion but I'm gonna sidestep that like a huge number of my good countrymen do and say that GUNS KEEP US SAFE! They are essential for a Free State! Pry them from my cold dead fingers!

As anyone who's watched Hot Fuzz will know, the only Englishmen packing are farmers. And farmers' mums.

Yahtzee should do more podcasts with people he likes while he's pissed. That was damn fucking funny.

I like the idea. Since he is getting more used to making ZP videos and he is probably a master by now, he would surely have more time to do some gags and make some more appearances.
