I really didn't quite understand that. Can you elaborate?

Hey, that's a good idea. biggrin.gif

And be careful what you wish for: Uwe Boll already tried to get the rights to an MGS movie, but Kojima stomped all over him. Some think it's because Kojima wants to direct an MGS movie himself (he studied cinema in australia during his college years) but that's not a certainty.

Oh they were making it at one point but like all movies based on GOOD video games there was some squabble over who owns what and it got put on hiatus. Someone wants to make a crappy resident evil movie with Milla Jovovich prancing about and they fall over themselves to get it done and this goes on hiatus.

But you’re right if they did make this they would need to let Kojima sit in the director’s chair this aint a job for Ridley Scott.

EDIT: I did a bit more research and it seems they have it back on track for now but I’m confident something else will go wrong.

More information here.

That is one badass baby.

Oh, Milla Jovovich. I actually like her, I think she's a decent actress, an excellent martial artist and a generally pretty cool lady. So why's she always in such crappy movies? Is this really the best material the brilliant minds in hollywood can think up for a tough, strong, beautiful leading lady?

Kojima could also act as producer: I personally think Ryuhei Kitamura would probably direct one hell of a MGS film...
It's not stalking! It's artistic reference!

I can't believe no one thought of this sooner but the metal gear solid series is a treasure trove of awesome bad guys, in fact you could probably make a whole separate topic just for them. Liquid Snake for one was an incredible bad guy. Damn I wish they would make a film about that game.

Metal Gear Solid had great villians, but the rest of the series had a few here and there.

Vamp was alright, but invulnerable villains are just pointless, I'll be surprised if he's killed off in 4.

Every villain with a title in number 3 were just plain retarded.

"Im the Pain! I shout pain every 3 seconds and I can control bees for some reason!"

and why did everyone have to yell "The__" 10 times before they died?

The Boss was the only good character out of them, I've forgotten the rest of the peoples names by they were all more or less shitty.

Credit where credits due the fifth element was a really good movie.

Kitamura? Seems he did the motion capture stuff for Twin Snakes so he would be a good director but IMD claims a guy called Kurt Wimmer is doing the directing. mellow.gif

They represented the horrors of WWIII like the pain, sorrow, fear and The end of the world. Of course, it might've also been pointless, but Kojima is not that dumb to just throw characters in. He does forget to fill in some holes though.
MGS4 is by far the most mature of all MGSs with MGS3 in seconds place.

Ha! The only song that's ever made ME cry was the "1000 words" cutscene in FFX-2.

.....Wait, I probably shouldn't be so quick to admit that...

The best female villain has to be Nurse Ratched from One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest

She enjoyed playing and manipulating these poor people that suffer from mental and physical limits to get notes on them and learning further ways to control and manipulate them. The way she did it was always calm and straight-faced, not showing a sign of aggressive or hateful emotion. To the person she was talking with though, she was tearing them to pieces and driving them insane, making them admit terrible things about themselves just so she has more reason to keep them locked up and to have more control.

I guess she wouldn't fit the full meaning of villain, but that's about as close as it gets to vile without baby murder.

As I said before Liquid Snake he's badass pure and simple. Who else can take over your body by using a severed arm? Plus he's an English villain who was in the SAS and as Yahtzee puts it "doesn’t express a fondness for crumpets" or something like that.

Hehe, I remember reading an interview with Christopher Eccleson where he talked about working on the show HEROES: "I have never been offered more cups of tea in my entire life."

I personally think something about the effortless British air of superiority lends itself very well to villainy, but there's one thing about Liquid that confuses me. He was Solid's twin brother, and both were cloned from Big Boss, but here's the thing: Solid and Big Boss were both American, so why is Liquid English? Do they have so many clones that they're just giving them away? Did the SAS have an IOU from America: "One Cloned Supersoldier?"

Though that's not as mystifying as Claudia's accent in Silent Hill 3: not only was she supposed to be American, she was raised IN Silent Hill and had presumably never lived outside of it. So where did she pick up that dialect?
