You'd come off better if you typed less. Typically writing a page-and-a-half essay on how you aren't crazy succeeds in nothing but adding credence to the idea that you are.

You guys are definitely some of the odder forumites I've ever encountered.

And yes, sandwiches are still not back in. Personally, I blame the recession for that. But we sometimes hear rumours of doughnuts emerging from some of the more conservative covens.

Internet romance also makes me think of "cybering", the most entertaining opportunity for ruining a girl's week over IRC.

We all know there's only one way to cyber - this one. Or, alternatively, this one.

That's a tad hypocritical, is it not? Shame on you. Shame! We're just very different from the normal forum mindset. And there is often a lot of being persnickety about the most minor of details.

Hey, I never said "odd" was a bad thing! Odd's a good thing, I'm odd, I know how it goes. And I like persnickety, it's good when people are willing to think as deeply about the details of something as I am.

It's a well-known idiom that "an innocent man doesn't need 60 pages to tell me he's innocent," but there I have a problem. See, I'm a compulsive essayist as well as sketch-artist.

If I have anything at all to say about anything, I usually have a lot to say about it; wither that something is my own insanity, or writing, or the worth of story in games, or hats, or the Assassin's Creed sequel, or Dante's best voice actor, or who should play the Prince in the PoP move (hint: David Zandi), or the worth of Tyra Banks as a human being, or genetic engineering, or the debate 2D vs. 3D animation, the failings of motion-capture, nationalism, racism, religion vs. atheism, politics, siblings, the worth of Japanese RPGs vs. First Person Shooters, fictional characters and their Myspace accounts, the best material on youtube, what makes a great action movie, british humor vs. all other kinds of humor, why Peets Coffee is the best on the planet...

...Generally, you name it, and if I have any opinion on it at all, I'll probably have a lengthly opinion.

So, again, while I understand your point, and I probably should type less, I'm not going to. Not because I don't want to, but because I know me well enough to know I'm just not going to. I spew words all over everything and everyone around me; it's like a disease.

QUOTE
whith·er /ˈʰwɪšər, ˈwɪš-/ [hwith-er, with-]
–adverb
1. to what place? where?
2. to what end, point, action, or the like? to what?
–conjunction
3. to which place.
4. to whatever place.
[Origin: bef. 900; ME, var. of ME, OE hwider, alter. of hwęder (c. Goth hwadre), modeled on hider hither]

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

whith·er (hwĭth'ər, wĭth'-)
adv. To what place, result, or condition: Whither are we wandering?

conj.

1. To which specified place or position: landed on the shores whither the storm had tossed them.
2. To whatever place, result, or condition: "Whither thou goest, I will go" (Ruth 1:16).

[Middle English, from Old English hwider; see kwo- in Indo-European roots.]

My deduction: whither refers to location almost all the time.

QUOTE
wheth·er /ˈʰwɛšər, ˈwɛš-/
1. (used to introduce the first of two or more alternatives, and sometimes repeated before the second or later alternative, usually with the correlative or): It matters little whether we go or stay. Whether we go or whether we stay, the result is the same.
2. (used to introduce a single alternative, the other being implied or understood, or some clause or element not involving alternatives): See whether or not she has come. I doubt whether we can do any better.
3. Archaic. (used to introduce a question presenting alternatives, usually with the correlative or).
–pronoun Archaic.
4. which or whichever (of two)?
—Idiom
5. whether or no, under whatever circumstances; regardless: He threatens to go whether or no.
[Origin: bef. 900; ME; OE hwether, hwęther, equiv. to hwe- (base of hwā who) + -ther comp. suffix; c. ON hvatharr, Goth hwathar]

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(hwěth'ər, wěth'-)
conj.

1. Used in indirect questions to introduce one alternative: We should find out whether the museum is open. See Usage Notes at doubt, if.
2. Used to introduce alternative possibilities: Whether she wins or whether she loses, this is her last tournament.
3. Either: He passed the test, whether by skill or luck.

pron. Archaic
Which: "We came in full View of a great Island or Continent, (for we knew not whether)" (Jonathan Swift).

[Middle English, from Old English hwether; see kwo- in Indo-European roots.]

And what's this? Is it...? No. Couldn't possible be, but it is! It's whether! Now use it like a normal human being!!!

DreamerM, should I classify you in the category of 'Emos' or 'naggers' or 'emotional people'?

well, if it makes you feel any better I once argued, not debated, science with a Nobel Prize winner.
I felt like a tool later, but then my ego took over and I was fine.

blink.gif Where's the exact relevance to the actual conversation? Anyway, did you cyber with them afterwards? And yes, it was that exact bash.org quote that brought cybering to mind. I spent rather a long time reading through those...
