I was saying that since the only reason people watches his movies are to see Johnny Depp in a weird role (Ed Wood, Scissor Hands). The only movie I ever liked from him was Big Fish. Now if he said the Kubrick or Tarintino of comics..

Well, since Tim Burton has never made a movie that met critical acclaim (aside from Planet of the Apes), then yes. In any case, Tim Burton has also made a pretty good Batman movie once. With Jack Nicholson doing pretty well as the Joker. Of course Mark Hamill will always be "The Joker" in my mind.

Tim Burton made a nice looking movie once with a character in it named Batman. Everyone said it was "dark" because it had Goth visuals and some people died. But it was also full of the same corniness that had marked the high-key tv series with Adam West, and it had Jack Nicholson playing Jack Nicholson in clown makeup, dancing to tracks by Prince. It played loose with the Batman character (in fashion similar to the recent BATMAN BEGINS) and it made the same mistake that every superhero film apart from the X-MEN series has made, of placing inordinate focus on the hero in his secret identity rather than on the hero in costume. It began the tradition (realised again in the recent BB) of having Batman reveal his secret identity to some gal he's interested in but who, like a Bond girl, we will never see again.

Tim Burton also made a sequel to his allegedly good movie, and it was terrible, but it had a young Michelle Pfeiffer in latex, which was nice. Batman revealed his identity also to Pfeiffer's Catwoman, but at least in this one it was an accident.

There has yet to be a genuinely good movie based on the Batman character. Might as well try anime; where's the harm?

I liked the 1989 Batman. It was a fun romp through the Batman mythos, and I thought Nicholson was pretty good for a live-action Joker. He is not the best, as Mark Hamill takes the spot as #1 Joker. Which makes me kind of sad he didn't try to get the part in Dark Knight. But I digress.

And to be honest I rather like the art style.

Also, if you didn't like the live action Batman flicks, the Bruce Timm animated ones are pretty good if I may so myself. I reccomend Mask of the Phantasm.
