Right then, lets all just take a chill pill and remember that anime is a type of genre and can therefore not be classified as being 'good' or 'bad'.

I think the idea dosn't suck, it just blows to be honest, because Batman is an icon of the american idiom, and anime/manga fits certain moods, and I don't think it fits batman at all, although they can get away with it if a) the males arn't all girly haired saps, and more like Batau from GiTs, and b ) the females don't resemble bog standard anime females too much, his is usually the shaterer of the illusion of belivibility (mainly down to image fitting the mood again), catwoman would never work in styalised anime.

Anime style Lightning is...well, not batman style. A single light in a scene makes me wonder weather this is Gears of War with 100+ brightness level, or something cute pretending to be dark.

(That is what makes Joker look gay).

I disagree. I can see the version from Long Halloween, for example, fitting in perfectly.

Reading "Batman", "Bruce Timm", "set in-between Batman Begins and The Dark Knight" in the same sentence nearly made me spit soda all over the monitor but I can't say I'm impressed by those pictures of Batman. Hopefully, it seems to be 6 shorts animated in 6 different styles, so one style might be good, but quite frankly, with all the potential this idea had, I doubt it will get any close to the Spawn's animated series.

Let's remember anime isn't in fact a genre but a medium. Not even. A submedium. Calling it a 'genre' only makes it more difficult to explain that not all anime is the same.

Oh my god.

I just defended anime.

Sorry, guys.

I respectfully disagree, Long Halloween was 1000 miles from mangatown, and in my experience manga cannot do femme fatals, in the most literal and american sense of the word (and as I said before, the american idiom is an important part of batman).

Run for the hills gents, here I come with my two cents slung over my shoulder in a burlap sack I nicked off a Columbian drug cartel.

It is as follows.

Do I LOOK like I give a fuck, flying or otherwise?

Waaah anime sucks. May be but personally I'm not going to bother calling in the air strike until I actually sit down and watch an episode of it myself. Yeah some anime is sucky. And so are some other Western shows; if memory serves the movie Deja Vu and the TV series American Chopper were that bad they were slowly turning me gay. The reason for that was I was sitting there in my chair with a cold drink and thinking "yikes, I'd rather have a dick in my mouth than watch this crap for another fifteen minutes".

In summary, I'm not going to go on an anti-Anime rant on this because I haven't seen it yet. And if it turns out to be entertaining, then does it really MATTER what medium it's presented in? Look at The War Of The Worlds. No pictures or special effects at ALL. And it's still classed as one of the greatest entertainment pieces in the last hundred years.
I'm not pessimistic; I've just realised that the light at the end of the tunnel is an incoming train.

I am corrected. I understood you to be saying her character model would not function in Anime, not her character itself. I was saying that the pictures in Long Halloween could adapt, not the character itself. Thanks for clearing that up.

It's hilarious that people are still whining on about how the new Batman cartoons don't look like Bruce Timm and Paul Dini's Batman WHICH STOPPED BROADCASTING NEW EPISODES ALMOST TEN YEARS AGO.

This coupled with the fact that Bruce Timm has two character models, "bulky male" and "voluptuous female".

I mean, I enjoyed it too, but why exactly does everyone hold that show as the fucking Batman bible, seeing as though in comic book form, the character has been portrayed 808457645647 different ways?

That was probably the thinking behind the development of the atomic bomb. I'm sure that's exactly what they said when uranium was discovered. And I'm sure that's why Adam agreed to give God his rib. So yeah, basically this might have sex with you, but it will probably hurt you too. And it's Batman, so I'd imagine you'll probably get raped big time.

Well, normally this would be the normal bastardization of a fantastic comic series into anime, however Bruce Timm is making it. Bruce Timm is like the Tim Burton of comics, and I have no reason to think that he won't stay faithful to the comics.
