I accidentally saw this on the Escapist forum:

Half of me died, but the other half of me is looking forward. Hope they don't ruin Joker.

Hold on... There may be no need for bloodshed. It might not be that bad.
I had issues with The Batman animated series for WB Kids

mainly b/c the art direction was too different
from what im use to but the show is good.

And if this Bruce Timm fellow is involved then
it will most likely be done right. Maybe

Even batman cannot salvage anime into something decent.

Also, why is this here? Did this suddenly become the Escapist forum in addition to the Yahtzee forum?

Yahtzee enjoyed hearing about Batman's recent (old, I think) visit to the Buckingham palace.

The art looks decent and detailed, and Batman reminds me of Guts from Berserk.

I disagree with the first statement. Anime can be good with a good story and a good writing staff. The question is, do the Japanese understand the bat-characters well enough? I saw what they were doing with Deadshot, And I'm not happy...

Although the second one I agree with completely.

I don't think the entire forum should be dedicated to Yahtzee.

Besides, he already has two forums. dry.gif

Guy, not all anime is bad, it's just an unlucky coincidence that 99.5% of it is complete testicle paste. But guys, don't worry. It's Batman. Beating things up. Looking awesome. Pufferfish.

I'm only worried about Joker.

He's such a nice fella. He doesn't need all these fancy make ups.

Anime can be good with a good story and a good writing staff.

They could have it made by the finest writers in the world, and inspired by all the greatest literature in the land, but nothing can change the fact that it's still anime.

Lets just wait for it and enjoy...Joker (which might be the only person I care about. Penguin comes second).

I think it looks pretty good. I think the issue with Anime is that too much of it is of the Tenchi Muyo/Oh My Goddess ilk; this doesn't look like that.

And if it sucks ... so what? Batman is a franchise that will live on in comics and movies and cartoons and etc etc for a long time. Who cares if a mediocre product comes out once in a while? Batman Begins wasn't all that good either.

The animation is real good, some of the pictures i've seen are real eerie and fit Batman well.
