*Presses play* Seeing as Y-man generally seems to give te same kind of rating to a game that I would, I'm going to estimate that he didn't like it.

*Five minutes later* Yeah, pretty much. I would never buy such a game, but having seen one of my housemates play it, I've managed to see most of it.

He has a point. Do the Japanees do anything else other than big haired, low witted, ifeminet men who all run round with a crappy version of the blade of Olimpus from God of War (oh yea and the big mec fests like Armourd Core 4).
And is it just me, or does anyone else have a distinct hatred for Nintendo with the constant remakes, and sereis of Pokemon games and mario.

Oh, of course they do! Japanese have an amazing culture and with their way of thinking being so different then the western one, it means they can produce stuff that is increadibly interesting and grappling.

......Problem is that stuff usually gets drowned by the piles of shit you mentioned. Seriously, one of the best Japanese animations I've watched are not anime. They are made by independent animators who don't really give a fuck about mainstream.

As for the review, well I liked it. That's all. Nothing amazingly funny, just the same old bit of ZP we get every week. The ending though and the choice of song were really good.

And the film should be shot in sepia, because real life was in sepia in the 1990s.

And yet, even though their culture is so great, the only stuff they ship over here are the shitty ones that are basically just rip offs of things we already have over here? Keeping all the good shit to themselves... those bastards. I say we invade Japan, to teach them a lesson.

There was something about the trailer of the game that made it look and sound like a Hollywood movie wannabe, especially with the all well known narrator, commentator, adviser and unseen Mr. throat cancer.

"Leaping eight times your own hight, swinging swords the size of small cars around and reflecting bullets with other bullets are all fine with me as long as it is entertaining."
"3 energy bombastic fight sequences..."
"His motivations can be best summarized as 'pussy whipped'"

Nero: "I AM A TWAT."
Dante: "I ALSO"

"If you have trouble telling them apart, remember that Nero is a pussy while Dante is more of a cunt."
"Dante concentrated on wearing too many belts."
"...And weird girls who write erotic cross over fan fiction and smell like old meat."

One of his best review by far.

[irony and sarcasm]Well, we can bomb them again and start a new cloned Japan again without Hentai and strange fetish of vomiting on others for sexual pleasure[/irony and sarcasm (or is it?)]

I remember seeing the first bunch of episodes of the Devil May Cry anime a few months back, until I was pretty sure that it would never stop sucking.

There, that's all I got to say to the topic, the review itself was brilliant, I guess.

It's neither, because it's completely true. Somewhere around the mid 19th century, Japan stopped being cool. Shit got out of hand when those Europeans gave them guns, and it was all over when Tom Cruise got there and decided to take cosplaying a step too far.

And as far as the video goes, one of the best so far. Game Over pretty much outlined my reasons.

But if there's no Hentai, how am I going to greet people online?

(I occasionally use "Speaking of tentacle rape...")

How can Japanese animation not be anime? I thought that was the definition.

I don't agree with Yahtzee's statement that Back to the Future had good sequels. The second one was stomach-wrenching and I haven't seen the third one because of it.

Ahhh, it's so refreshing to know that Yahtzee shares my hatred for anime and the anime-esque. I actually didn't laugh much at that one, except when the giant sword ate the little man. That was great. Combine two Japanese obsessions: Giant swords and giant robots. Giant robot swords!
When in doubt, plead sarcasm.

Not really. Anime, by the way it's understood outside of Japan, is a specific style of animation, the one we all know and hate/love/whatever.

Japanese animation....is just that. Animation done by Japanese in Japan. It doesn't mean it's anime...unless you're one of those people who think that everything about Japan=anime.

Actually, check out in youtube a series of 3D animations called Sky Jumping Pairs. Or if you can, find somewhere short film "Laughing Moon". That one is so absurdly hilarious I fell off my chair in the cinema while watching it. (one of the cinemas in town was having an all day screening of independent animation films from around the world.)

So maybe I do overreact a little, but you can never be too sure.
