I thought it might be cool to have a thread to talk about the gems of your own DVD collection, and to offer to trade that Conair DVD that you dont know why you have. I figure you brag about your really cool dvds and then list the ones you'd like to trade. Then if anyone sees one on your list they like they pm you and you look over their list and stuff. You can post in the thread to review traded movies and tell people the dvds arrived and such. I wouldnt worry at all about trading dvds through the mail with a lot of people on the forums, and everyones entitled to my opinion on movies. Without it Slade might never have learned the secret allure of the Spinach Monster.

Movies I have that are better than your movies:

High Planes Drifter
Tombstone
Life on the murder scene
Dune
Ghost Dog
Frogs
The Sword and the Sorcerer (featuring the Chefelf seal of approval)
Wag The Dog
Where the Buffalo Roam
Cabin Boy

Movies I'd trade for other movies:

Lumumba
Spaceballs
Shaun of the dead
Clerks
Tank Girl

I have a very very small DVD collection. I had the biggest video collection of most of my friends when I was a kid, but by the time everything switched over to DVD I stopped caring about owning movies unless I REALLY loved them - and that doesn't happen often. (Or if someone gives one to me, but that doesn't happen often, either).

My collection that I love:
Labyrinth - DAVID BOWIE LUV!!! wub.gif wub.gif wub.gif also Brian Froud and Jim Henson luv
The Dark Crystal - more Brian Froud and Jim Henson luv
RENT - musical AIDS and poverty angst luv
The PotC trilogy - Although I prefer the first muchly, I have to love the other two because a} they're fun and b} my lil' bro gave them all to me.
Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory - Gene Wilder and Roald Dahl luv
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory - co-owned with my lil' bro
Phantom of the Opera (the newest one)
And finally, The Storyteller - a little known Jim Henson tv series that only lasted a season, where old fairytales from countries like Germany and Russia and even Africa (I think) are dramatized with muppets and other Henson effects. Very very cool, and I don't know anyone else in the world who has this DVD. tongue.gif

I wouldn't trade any of them, but I'd certainly trade away some of my VHSs... Anyone interested in a first edition Bambi? happy.gif

I am writing about Jm in my signature because apparently it's an effective method of ignoring him.

You totally do have to get Labyrinth! I am sad that you don't have it yet. And yes, Rent is muy excellente. Also, I must see Dune.

Be ready to be blown away:

UHF
The Mighty Boosh, Series 1 & 2 Boxed Set (I got it for only twelve pounds or so on Amazon.co.uk. I'm not sure why it was on such a huge markdown, but I'm not complaining.)

Edit:
JM: I think it was the Spaghetti Monster.

Indiana Jones Boxed Set

I had to get that fucker too. I wanted to ask why the fuck Raiders and Crucade were more expensive for just the two of them than the entire box set complete with Temple, but then I realized that was a dumb question.
