So basically before Israel left Gaza they put up a huge wall between the strip and Egypt and when Israel said to close the border the egyptians kinda had to play along. Thank god thats changed. Hamas, early this morning, used land mines to demolish over a third of the wall and civilians are now pouring through to buy basic necessities denied them by the cruel Israeli blockade. Im glad that Hamas has taken this step and I think it shows their great devotion to their people and to Palestinian sovereignty.

Ugh. That whole situation over there is so messed up. I don't support either side (neither one has goals or tactics I agree with) - but I am glad that wall came down.
Wonder how long before they try to put it back up?

I am writing about Jm in my signature because apparently it's an effective method of ignoring him.

I wonder how long Israelis and Palestinians can keep playing this game before it all blows over.

Until they run out of people to kill, probably. My money's on Israel winning, because they're the ones with the tanks and airforce and US funded military.
It's fantastic that they're taking that wall down. It was such an atrocity and blatently cruel violation of human rights. And now I'm really curious as to how you use a landmine in an act of demolition, since they're normally used to blow people apart, not buildings.

Egypt and Syria could have done much more to allow Palestinians access to their countries long before now the only reason they haven’t is because their hoping that the deaths of Palestinians will put international pressure on the Israelis.

They didn’t accept Palestinian refugees because they didn’t want the same problems Lebanon has.
