Tell her she has a nice rack.

Already done that.

Didn't you say the player is supposed to dislike the protagonist compared to the other characters? I hope your friend doesn't take that personally.

Not exactly dislike, I meant the players would probably come to like the gruff old detective dude more. Without giving too much away of the plot, if the player has started to relate to the protagonist, he'll be in for a kick in the balls at the end, Silent Hill 2-style.
By the way, I gave this lady friend a thorough plot synopsis with a psychological analysis of the main character, and she went 'Fuck yeah, count me in. She sounds like a batshit insane character, I can identify with that."

(If this project actually gets finished, I'll probably ask her to do some voice acting too.)

Did my first ever high-resolution conversion, figured I might as well show you guys what I'm up to in my free time:

For some reason she looks a lot less frail from the side, can't really put my finger on it why.

Clock Tower popped in my head after seeing these. Res made a huge difference.

They look fantastic in a higher res, David.

Thank ye kindly. smile.gif

It will indeed borrow a few gameplay elements from Clock Tower because that game has a special place in my heart. However, we're trying to make the atmosphere more Silent Hill kind of scary.

Both of those games atmospheres were perfect, combining the two could only mean good.

Does she say anything in particular or does she just have the ability to talk?

Too much lipstick, her eyes seem to be trailing off... like, about to slide down her cheeks, in an attempt to get away from her nose and-

Whoa, sorry. Shouldn't criticize away like that, maybe the actual model looks like that.

And don't let my girlfriend see those eyebrows or you'll be in for a long long talk...

Her eyes and makeup are kind of like that IRL. I exaggerated those just a tiny bit for the game because I felt it added to the eerieness. That, plus the fact she will never blink in a dialogue window unlike the other characters in the game.

SPOILER: We're talking about a psycho with a fucked-up past (suffice to say that she had every reason to become one) who has completely locked out her memories from her conscious self, and who is trying to seem normal but fails miserably. Sort of like Angela Orosco from Silent Hill 2 but with a different past and very different behaviour (for instance, she actually tries not to freak people out).

And why is that?

Don't get her started.

And I really like the non-blinking idea. Adds a very nifty creepy touch.

You better hope players notice. It's sad when small bits of effort are unnoticed...

Hey wait, there's a secret ending to 1213?

Yep. Have you got the code? Start playing Episode 3 again, and look carefully around the food court. Afterwards: don't lose your ticket.

Very creepy David, well done.
