Exactomundo!!

I would have to say, even that I like the original CGI dinosaurs (to be totally honest, I really like the old Harryhausen, O'Brien dinosaurs, but...) in the original Jurassic Park MORE than I do in the subsequent movies (altho, the stories of these movies really suck). Somehow, CGI went from some pretty good potential to being cartoony and unbelieveable. I like the original Tremors worms over the CGI bullcrap that cropped up in the sequels.

I know even the old movies have levels of "smoke and mirrors" but why does it seem more believeable, my disbelief is actually suspended? I don't think my tastes in movies have changed in my older age, so it has to be something on the other end, right?

I think I now know why the Prequels don't work for me. It is like a cartoon. It's like an artist who has painted in oil for so long, making it real and colorful and wonderful, and all of a sudden he switches to watercolors and completely changes the feel and weight of his paintings!

It's like when you have a big hit movie and then they do a Saturday Morning Cartoon version of it---it's...just...not...the...same!

This is the problem! Lucas needs to embrace the technology which made SW so great... but my criticism is unfounded. It will NEVER happen! He has too much pride. He's invested too much time, too much money.

I'm only hoping in twenty years someone else will have the rights to these films and make the PTs as they were meant to be. Yeah... well.. We'll see how I feel about SW after Ep. III. Maybe I'd wait.

I'm just glad he didn't have all this wonderful CGI technology in 1977.

Jordan, I recommend that all Star Wars fans read Timothy Zahn's trilogy:

Heir to the Empire
Dark Force Rising
The Last Command

Please also note the simple but very good naming convention used for these books. Not that hard to come up with a good name now is it Georgie???

That's a very good point, Supes. There must be hundreds of better alternative titles to "Attack of the Clones."

I know! I would've been perfectly happy with "The Clone Wars," but then it would have actually involved full scale wars then, wouldn't have it? And, Georgie just couldn't do that, could he?

I'd be happy with "Revenge of the Sith" for the first one and "Fall of the Republic" for the third one... I don't give a rip about about the "of the" which some people have a lot of trouble with, but then, that's just me.
