I always imagined him as having a sort high class northhampton accent in my head. Give phil a Glaswegan accent that would be especialy funny when he says "I'm NOT a thief".

So this baby, while still inside its mother, murdered his twin brother and STOLE HIS PENIS.

That is one badass baby.

What about Trilby with a Michael Caine accent? That would be something.

It would work, but I don't really want Trilby to be cockney at all for some reason... Well, Michael Caine Cockney's a little different, but still... It's there!

I actually thought a Stephen Fry voice might be good. Only, y'know, straighter.

How about some plain upper middle-class London English accent? You think that would cut it? :/

Hm... That kinda covers my cousins. So I suppose it could work thinking of the voice, but that is sort of along the same lines as Stephen Fry. But yeah... We're just passing time, aren't we?

You know making him sound like a streight Stephen Fry actualy makes a lot of sense that would work.

I think Stephen Fry sounds pretty straight as he is. Do you mean less, old-ish?

Clive Owen would be a wonderful Trilby. As long as they changed the title from "5 Days a Stranger* to "Shoot 'Em Up", and made Trilby an English guy in America who's addicted to carrots and shooting things trying to save a baby and an Italian hooker from Paul Giamatti.

Hey, that's a pretty good idea. Someone get Paramount Pictures on the phone.

The whole time I was watching that movie my eyebrows where raised so high they went past my hairline, to this day I'm not sure if I liked it or not. The suspendion of disbelief in that movie was something else. But to give this post a slight connection to the topic NO CLIVE OWEN WOULD NOT MAKE A GOOD TRILBY!

Can we stop talking about the Chzodamn accent? As much as a fan I am of accents, and trust me, I am, I think that I'd rather he sound like he's from Texas than have the actor have a wooden delivery.

I can't think it'd be any argument. I mean, a well-spoken, articulate, well-pronounced neutral accent seems fine. Especially considering he's a 'gentleman' thief.
Smashed up my sanity.
Smashed up my integrity.
Smashed up what I believed in,
Smashed up what's left of me.
Smashed up my everything,
Smashed up all I thought was true,
'gonna smash myself to pieces,
I don't know what else to do.

As I said, it's better to have a good actor than a good accent.
