I'm planning on doing a low-budget, live-action version of 5 Days a Stranger.

What do you think? any advice or anything?

I'm inclined to say "Don't bother. It will be shit." But I think we've already established that I am a dick, so I'll say make sure you actually get convincing actors. Like, y'know, British ones would be a good start... And if you can't find them in Britain... God help you...

Heh, i know it will be shit. All of the actors will be my schoolfriends, and we are all Scottish. Out attempts at the English accent often come out more humorous than intended.

One of the problems is a lack of recording equipment and space to record within. i can only do this in my house, and even though its quite big, it's no Defoe manor.

I suppose you already know that one exists, yes?

Make sure the person playing the main character knows how to say his name.

And that he has a tie on.

And that it isn't set in a suburban home with a fridge with pop in it.

And make sure he's wearing an actual Trilby.

That all the bad stuff I can remember, at least apart from the overall crapness of it, from when Yahtzee came into the room that one time.

And asked me what the capital of Spain is.

What the hell?

One exists? hmm, any links?

I've always said Trill - bee. is that wrong?

I can just use one of my dad's things. this is strictly amateur stuff.

It will be suburban, but all stuff like that cannot be truly attributed the previous owners of the DeFoe manor will be removed from eyeshot.

Whereabouts? Well, roughly... I'm no stalker-man, but I am Scottish, and can do English accents quite convincingly, being of English birth... Anyway, how many 6'4" (I think) friends have you got? (And I'm not, before you think I'm implying, I also don't act, but I can yell at people wink.gif )

I'm in Aberdeen, which has an odd accent. I do have a English friend, but he is not exactly right for the role.

I might be able to get my brother in, he's a good height, though if this one goes well, i might use him for The Tall Man.

EDIT - Simone might have to become Simon. I know no females willing to act in a horror movie.

I'm way on the other side, kinda... I'm Fort William, anyway, before we turn this into some sort of ice-cream social, just train your voices a bit. Should help at least slightly. The set shouldn't be too hard, except maybe for the pool and basement... I don't know the mansions around Aberdeen so well...

i will get my potential stars trained, we will try to keep Aberdeen an afterthought.

The pool and basement will be replaced with my garage. The door never used to be locked, why is it now?

EDIT - If this does take off, i will rewrite the script, basically covering up anything that i can't do, like having a upstairs corridor, the door in the back yard, digging up stuff and Simon Taylor.

How old are you? Because watching 5 Days a Stranger starring people below the age of 18 with little acting skills or film experience (I assume) would be pretty painful. No offense, I just really don't want to see it if you fit into that category.

We are under fifteen, and this is strictly amateur, a mere tribute. I might be able to get a good audio guy in, but apart from that, most actors are very amateur. I only want to do this as a tribute, not as a faithful reenactment.

Thank god! But still, this'd better not go beyond YouTube! And we'll probably still complain... Anyway, I don't particularly care that much...

A short fan film can do no harm, it could be fun to see what you come up with. Something written by Yahtzee would be awesome. But good luck whatever you manage to accomplish smile.gif I'd like to shoot a Yahtzee movie, though I'm not sure which......

Well, if this gets a moderate reaction, i might do 7 Days, still very low budget, and maybe Notes. Either way, they will not be too good.

EDIT - if you don't mind a quick download, http://files.filefro...;/fileinfo.html a quick script of the opening scene.
