I surely hope that if Obama is elected, he does not choose the same cabinet. We need something new, not more of the same, whether it's red or blue.

I think that since Edwards dropped out, Obama has a better chance of winning the democratic slot - most of the people who would have voted for Edwards (but now can't) would rather have Obama than Hillary, the way I understand it. So a lot of those votes will go towards him. At least that's what I'm hoping.
I'm also thinking that maybe part of the reason Edwards dropped out of the race (besides knowing he was gonna lose) is because maybe there was talk of having him be Obama's running mate. Who knows...

And it "had nothing to do with the fact that his wife is dying from cancer." That always did rub me the wrong way - if your wife is home dying from cancer, shouldn't you spend the last bit of time you'll ever have with her, with her???
I also find it funny the things Obama and Clinton said about him after he dropped out - you'd think he died, not gave them less competition...

Works great from the Sympathy angle, doesn't it? Not good enough, apparently- We already have our chosen victim here.
Super tuesday next week, I'm considering doing the democrat thing and voting for Obama over Huckabee. MH is my clear favorite- he's certainly inspiring and humorous, if not electable. At least by voting for Obama, I'd be doing about all I could do to stop Clinton from getting the nomination and eventually that other thing.

When Clinton first announced her plans to run, I never would have thought she'd be doing this well this far in... Unforunately, she really knows how to work the soccer mom vote. Going on Tyra and acting just like one of the girl friends? Brilliant. Sigh.

So I have a question - does anyone other than my family have silly nicknames for any of the candidates? Maybe not necessarily to make fun of them, but just for fun and silliness.

Do things like "stooge", "meathead", and "Hitler" count?

Mike Huckabee. He's the homophobe pig, if I remember correctly.
I actually don't know much else about any of the other candidates; I only know some things about the ones I really dislike.
