So based on that statement about killing everyone I can assume you'll be voting for what, Cthulu or something?

US Primary Election threads have a bad tendency to slip into discussions about wholesale slaughter based on political standing.

I went to the websites of almost every presidential runner. There is not one single canditate whom I support entirely. Go to the websites (eg. www.hilaryclinton.com why didn't i buy that domain name 5 years ago for 10 bucks?) and take a glance at the runners stance on big issues.

It would be nice if I could find a canditate with no unpaid political debts. The biggest crime every president is guilty of is allowing the private sector to become the policy makers of our country. President Bush and Vice President Cheney are probably the most guilty in recent times. This war cost the tax payers but not the military industrial complex. It made staggering figures.

This upcoming election is based on economics and foreign policy. And they're paying lip service to the enviroment, which is a huge step for Washington. Last two elections were based on faggots and fetuses, two subjects that the government shouldn't concern itself over.

It depends on which response he thinks will irritate people more.

I mostly agree with, uh, BSDFA. As I've already said, this election isn't a matter of who I like the most so much as it is who I hate the least. In my opinion, there is no good candidate. I've been to every one of their own websites as well as read multiple in-depth articles about each of them, and tracked voting records and all sorts of things. I did even more tonight and learned more about Huckabee, none of which made me like him any more. They all just suck hardcore. But also, I'm weird on my own political viewpoints, so it's always hard for me to like someone.

I'm glad that abortion and gay marriage aren't being as focused on this time around, but I don't think it's as focused in on economics. Maybe a little, as far as open trade vs. keeping jobs at home, but I think the focus this time is all about the "war," and about the illegal immigrants. It's kinda funny how it's such a big focus, but they're almost all pretty much saying the same things about it. "Make becoming a citizen easier, build up border defenses." So you all agree, now shut up about it and tell me where you're going to allocate funds and what taxes you're going to raise and cut and whether or not you want to give more power to the states or keep the federal gov't stronger. Quit acting the comedian, or spewing out the rhetoric, and give me some blunt, raw goals and plans to reach those goals. And for God's sake don't be such a moron as to admit you think evolution is a crock of shit. Believe what you want but for chrissake don't be such a douche about it... (I'm looking at you, Huckabee)

Sorry about the outburst... I've just become even more cynical and frustrated with this presidential race and the government as a whole tonight, having had a very good, stimulating, intellectual discussion about all kinds of politics tonight... It was a great conversation that I enjoyed very much, but then it all just made me realize how shitty everything is, and how it will probably never get fixed because humans suck like that, and how I should totally be the leader of the world... shifty.gif

I am writing about Jm in my signature because apparently it's an effective method of ignoring him.

My presence on these boards is not to irritate people. It is to enlighten the subjugated masses. That and to make coleslaw, for without coleslaw there is nothing but darkness.

I'd say you're going to need to try exponentially harder in order to enlighten anyone with whatever it is you're trying to spread, but zero times anything is still zero. A for effort on the non sequitur, though.

I saw that Slade had posted in this, and my first thought was "I bet Snake said something crazy again"

And lo, I was correct. I think that the Debate club is turning into the case of The People of Chefelf.com versus Snake Logan.

It doesn’t matter who wins the American elections, in the end everything always stays the same with slight unnoticeable differences.

As opposed to everywhere else where every election involves a radical revamping of society. Apparently.

Americans have been living too long with democracy. In other parts of the world that have been living under other types of governments, democracy means something, it means change. A new American president is not allowed to change anything because Americans are drunk with the idea that their constitution should not be changed even after 200 years. American presidents are nothing more then figure heads for everyone to point and boo at.
