This year's fine. It's new to me. And it has that bleak midwinter tone going for it.

You're busy enough to be entitled. I didn't send out Christmas Cards this year. sad.gif

Mostly, I'll be making presents. It's actually turning into a really serious issue, because there's three days left until Christmas and I still have to finish a squid hat for my friend (in all of yesterday, I only managed half a tentacle, I still have a tentacle to go, and I've run out of thread), a shirt for my brother (which, thankfully, will consist only of buying and fabric painting a t-shirt), and a really elaborate shirt for another friend. I do not own, or know how to use, a sewing machine. It's going to be an interesting few days! happy.gif In addition, I'll be making Christmas cookies today with a friend's family, which should be fun. I also am attempting to introduce my step-mother to Terry Pratchett by giving her a copy of Small Gods, and am giving my ex-alcoholic father a flask. Both of them sort of hit or miss, but I'm basing it entirely on optimism that it'll work out.

I should probably go sledding at least once, too.

Obviously, you've never received one from me.

Okay, I had a change of heart (and a little pressure from Jen) and decided to put up a very late Christmas theme, poorly copied from last year's.

Enjoy.

And you gave her a copy of Small Gods?

Yikes.

Just as well it wasn't The Truth or Lords and Ladies.

Hmmm, the subtitle to this thread is "It's cold this year". It's bloody 40 degrees out here, I'm surprised I didn't get sunburnt.

Edit: Despite that, pretty good day. Hope everybody else's were good also.

Merry Christmas and happy new year to all ye Night Lifers. I'm home for the holidays, and won't be around much until Tuesday. I hope everyone's been having a good holiday. I'm going to go make bread from scratch and then maybe I'll walk to California and back while my next web page loads. That should keep me occupied just long enough for it to finish.

I really despise dialup connections.
