Spoon- Obama is my man and all, but I'm used to Hilary going after him. What bothers me is she wants you to feel sorry for her while she's making frankly libelous claims about her rivals. Either of the two would be ok for me if they were done seperately but to swallow that pill whole is expecting American voters are a bit dumber than... ok no ones dumber than the people who twice elected George Bush, but still, it would be pretty dumb if anyone bought this thing.

I wouldn't object to a warmer more personal Hilary, and I dont even mind if she has to sniffle a bit. But the fact that as soon as she went through the motions of crying she went right back to campaign rhetoric makes it sound like the whole thing was a calculated move to blend in with the human population while plotting the takeover of the emotionless robots.

When it comes to the Republican vs. the Democratic way of doing government intervention in the economy, I have mixed feelings. I like the idea of less government involvement, like, period. Less involvement period. And it does make me mad when people take advantage of government-funded programs that are meant to help the less fortunate get back on their feet, and just... never get back on their feet. So the republican way of doing things is kinda okay with me on those points. But at the same time, I know I've had several medical problems that I'd still be living with (or dying from) today if it hadn't been for our tax dollars going towards benefits for the poverty-stricken.

Really, I think it's not the system that's broken as much as the people that run it. If tax moneys wouldn't be so misappropriated so much of the time; if the senators wouldn't demand such huge pay raises every couple of years when they're already the richest people in the U.S.; if we could cut back in certain research fundings that really aren't beneficial at all... And if it actually got spent on the things the people need. Better schooling, better environmental care, better medical care.

But the system does need some tweaking. It should be made easier for people who need help getting on their feet (homeless single moms, for example), but harder for people to just be able to keep continually taking advantage of government programs, without doing any work for themselves. It's like those people who are all "Woe is me, I have no money and my rent is due, but God will take care of it, I just have to trust in God." And then they sit around on their butts and don't go out and so they get kicked out of their house because they thought God would make the money fall in their laps. Peeves me.

So you believe that the government should dish out money but not control where that money is going?

Jm, I only just now noticed your post. You must have posted while I was responding to Despondent. And yeah, I know what you mean about Hilary. I didn't like her to begin with for various reasons (having nothing to do with Bill, no worries) but that was a pretty low low. And I wouldn't mind some show of emotion, either (and not because she's a woman - if anything, that probably makes it worse due to stereotypes), but at the right time and place. And that wasn't it, and like you said, it was clearly a calculated ploy.

I just heard this morning that Clinton won New Hampshire. sad.gif I must endeavor to get an absentee ballot to vote against her in NY's blue primaries in February. I'm sure that NYC carries all the voting power due to having a much larger population in the region, but there's nothing I can do about that except hope that they have more sense than to vote for the blatently manipulative bitch.

Are you voting against her policies or against her personality?

I don't know if its also her overall personality, but I'm definitely voting against her politics and rhetoric. Her stances on policies have been lukewarm for me at best, as well.

I'm not surprised she totalled one or two points ahead. Monday night she was preaching she'd give everyone everything. For example, Financial Aid with no more of those long forms to fill out. Because filling out the blanks ought not be a part of free higher education, I suppose.

I don't like any of the candidates, but of the candidates that actually have a chance, I'd prefer it to be Edwards vs. Huckabee.

I hope I can make it to a primary but the lack of car kinda hurts my chances at that.

I wish you could vote negative votes instead of positive. Like, instead of my vote adding a +1 to someone, I'd put a -1 on someone so it cancels out someone else's +1...

If someone gets a minus number of votes, what happens to them then?

We don't need a Hulked up Huckabee. We'll have another Reagan!

^ No serious political commentary.

And yeah, I'd like to hit a primary if I can. Throw in my 2 cents.
