Not really... it's violent, but not really disturbing. half-Life fucks with your head a fair bit though.

Yeah, I wouldn't say it's disturbing either. I wanna try it, but it sounds more like a rental than a buy, for me.

I played through 2 on the Wii recently, and yes, it's a rental-only type situation.

If there had been more focus on sneaking around and murdering people with sledgehammers and less on Gears of War style shootout sequences, it'd be fantastic.

That said, there are few things more exhilerating than killing someone with the motion-sensitive execution commands, even if you can't see anything clearly because the second one is ridiculously censored. I'd reccomend playing it at least once.

I played on Manhunt 2 on Ps2 and 1 is clearly superior.

Completley agree. It had alot of potential. But all the shootouts fucked up the game. Honsetly, after the 3rd stage, it's almost all guns.

The first Manhunt though is a CLASSIC.....

I'm inclined to agree. Being in possession of a pair of testicles means I'm automatically drawn to the prospect of blood like a homeless guy to a liquor bottle. Not to say that girls don't play these games; but I have yet to personally meet one.

Manhunt 1 was fantastic. Very claustrophobic, due to the constant hiding in alleys and shadows; and being discovered usually meant a panic attack followed by frantic head stabby-stabby. A lot of fun and I honestly thought that there wasn't much fun in kinghitting a gang member in a bad sweater from behind with a crowbar. Oh how I was wrong.

My personal favourite however is the Yellow-level Axe execution. Cash taps the victim on the shoulder, and just as they turn around SPLAK right between their eyes. All he needed then was a Duke Nukem-inspired one-liner and that game would have remained on my hard drive for all eternity.
I'm not pessimistic; I've just realised that the light at the end of the tunnel is an incoming train.

did anyone else besides me notice that immediately after the first Manhunt game was released, that Wal-Mart had switched the color of their plastic bags from the blue ones (like the ones you see in the game to gag someone), to the white ones they have now?

clearly, wally world wasnt about to get caught up in this controversy.

All the Wal*Mart's I've been to haven't had blue bags in years, and that's a lot of Wal*Marts...
I am writing about Jm in my signature because apparently it's an effective method of ignoring him.

It has been four years. I don't remember the last time I saw a blue bag.

Blue bags are rare here, always have been. White bags were the norm, but most places have grey, recycled plastic bags these days.

Good work with the conspiracy theory, though.

Not bad. Postal 2 is worse. Mind you, Postal 2 doesn't force you to do all the sick twisted stuff that you can do, whereas Manhunt does give you detailed diagrams showing about 400 ways to kill people with household objects.

Meh. Both Manhunt games are only taken slightly out of pathetic mediocrity by the idiotic and unnecessary media shitstorm they drew up because their cartoonish human 3d models were mauled in various ways. Controls are awkward and clumsy, graphics are standard dull Rockstar affairs, gameplay is clunky at best. If people hadn't made such a big deal about it all, and/or if it weren't made by Rockstar (who just seems to attract all the attention, despite many other graphic and more violent games, and the movie industry making much worse for over thirty years in terms of graphic content), they would be even more bargain-bin prone.
