His umbrella in AoT can be used as a shocky stick and in 5 days it's a grappling hook. So does he have lots of different umbrellas for different missions or something?

It's called a grolly. Grappling hook + brolly = grolly, where brolly is British for umbrella.

It's also a grappling hook in AoT. That's how he climbs, remember? Either that or he can do one-handed pull-ups like a madman.

The penguin has a hydraulic extender arm!?!

Somehow I very much doubt Tim Burton would've excluded anything as cool as that from the motion picture if it was true...

He meant the umbrella. Watch that Batman film (can't remember which one) and his umbrella is used as a grappling hook and a machine gun as far as I remember. I want to watch more of the original Batman series now... it's hilarious! biggrin.gif

That was the first movie I think, and those were different weren't they because he had a basket of them. Sorry about forgetting that it was also a grappling hook in AoT, blond moment.

I know his umbrella did tricks, was just pulling your leg smile.gif

It's the second Batman movie by the way, the first one's with the joker and the second one featured the Penguin. Incidentially, I believe those two were the only ones featuring Michael Keaton as Batman and both instructed by Tim Burton. They were also, for a very long time, the only good Batman movies, at least until Batman Begins. Although I suppose that particular viewpoint is up for discussion

No, it's not, Batman and Batman Returns rocked, as did Batman Begins. The others were utter tripe. But back on topic, I say! smile.gif

I think Trilby has a few different umbrellas, because the one he takes to DeFoe Manor is obviously sans tazer, or he's very forgetful.

I suppose he might just not have seen a need to bring his tazer-grolly to a supposedly abandoned house. Or maybe it was simply at the grolly-fixers because it had had an accident. After all, installing electric components in an umbrella seems somewhat of a recipe for disaster...

Plus, as he has to go back to england to pilfer the abandoned holidays to get the company off his back, and, even in the nineties, I think he might have had a bit of a time smuggling a tricked out weapon umbrella through customs at the airport. But what do I know. I suppose he had enough to charter his own plane.

Oh, I know. The sewer in the last level makes it short out, and he didn't get it fixed to go slumming in abandoned houses. But the grappling hook is mechanical, so still works.

Hooray for justification.

Even if he had it in 5DAS, at what point would he have used it? How effective is a taser against a lunatic with a machete? Or maybe he could have given Simone a quick zap when she tried to interview him. You know, put her in line.

WARNING: The black box of text is a major spoiler for 5 Days A Stranger. You were warned.

Well as long as the umbrella is longer than the machete I can see it being a pretty effective weapon actually. Just zap the bastard when he gets close enough and game's over for him. Of course, seeing as Trilby is the one being possesed and doing the actual killing it would be pretty difficult for him to actually get a hit in, I suppose

Remember how effective the tazer gun in 7DaS was against the Welder? Now, picture having to use it as a melee weapon. So yeah, tripping up the fucker is a lot more obvious solution.
