how about a lot of arcade games that were made in the 1990's that were spefically designed with the sole purpose of forcing you to deposit 25 cents into the slot about every 5 minutes to keep the game going..because no matter what, the game was programmed to make you die regardless of your skill.

"Continue?...deposit coin!!..10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1...game over."

Shadowman, but for the PC. Finding all of those Dark Souls was an almight pain in my arse (although it was fucking worth it to take on bosses with TWO Violators). And the end-boss battle with he who shares my name, the cheeky bastard, was fun. Too bad he had to mutate into that jellyfish looking fucker, until then I thought he had inherited my striking good looks.

Most impossible game ever when I was a kid... hm. Tie between Gauntlet on my Mega Drive and Wolfenstein 3D on my grandmother's computer. Those fucking attack dogs always scared the hell out of me.
I'm not pessimistic; I've just realised that the light at the end of the tunnel is an incoming train.

Haha I still have the PS Shadowman. I'm convinced I'll give it another go one of these years biggrin.gif. Weird game though! Shitty engine but great story and premise.

Not really a childhood game, but Silent Hill 3 on Hard Action difficulty is giving me a lot of trouble. I'm stuck right at the final bossfight, I even resorted to using the unlimited SMG, but after like 10 minutes of screwing about, I always get hit by the flames and run out of medicine. I just can't get past this, but I can't quit trying 'cos I'd like to see the bonus endings. And unlock some more stuff. Although I can't see myself trying to get a perfect rating like some lifeless nips do.

Ok, I just thought that you all would appreciate this. I received a Samurai Champloo: Sidetracked game for PS2 for Christmas. I was playing along and enjoying myself quite a bit, when I hit a bit of a snag. I found it really amusing that after about fifteen tries at a level, the game starts giving you a bit of help. First, double health. Next, repared weapons. Finally, quadruple health. Still a challenging game, but one that I will play... instead of chucking out a window.

Ok, so maybe it's a boring story... mellow.gif I just thought that all games should incorporate this system. It would make me happy.

Ok, this isn't from my childhood, but the amount of shit Trauma Center throws at you is fucking impossible to deal with even WITH the ability to slow down time. I don't know how Atlus expects me to simultaneously remove 4 aneurysms that are seconds away from bursting and take twice that amount of time to get rid of.

Not to mention that the touch screen controls don't do what I want them to half the time. I wanted to get the Wii version, but my sister INSISTED that she needed the handheld version so she could take it with her.

Which is stupid, because if you're playing the game on a bus or something there is no way you would be able to be as accurate as it wants you to be. I can't even get it right in a stable calm environment, I'd hate to imagine trying to play this on the fly.
