Good review, albeit perhaps a bit too harsh. But yes, Halo's pretty good, but extremely over-rated.

Yay! Either Yahtzee just likes the Beatles as much as I do or he's been inadvertently taking my advice! Or something...

Sir, I want you to have my children.

I'd rather have a copy of Shadow of the Colossus jammed stiffly up my arse than hear another Haloboy tell me about how good Halo is.

I have a Microsoft fanboy friend, and he absolutely REFUSES to play anything more than a year old that doesn't have "Halo" on the cover. I will show him this and enjoy listening to his emotionally charged speech about how Yahtzee doesn't know shit about games and is a massive failure.

It will probably make my day.

Please either record his speech, or at the least transcribe it.

When people get enraged if their stuff is criticized, then there's definitely some unhealthy obsession going on.

I've been saying this since Halo 1. Halo got so much praise because it gives people a fun game with no depth. Like Yahtzee said, it's pretty much a nice-looking game that does nothing new (cue fanboys screaming "DUAL-WIELDING, FORGE") Not to mention the fact that Master Chief is the worst hero in videogame history. He is a dimensionless, cardboard cut-out action hero with no character development (or character anything for that matter). It's a game for people who don't like having to think.

Bah, all those Halo queens will be barking about something else next week. Call of Duty 4 or Kane and Lynch is my bet.

Apparently this is so you can project your own character onto him. Although I get the feeling it's lazy writers.

Show me a better story that runs through a series than Broken Sword or <fanboy>Yahtzee's XDAS games, </fanboy> and you'll be a good man in my opinion.

Um, MGS at least comes pretty close, and even though it's not a series, Final Fantasy usually has good story. Lets not go down the lines of RPG actually...

Going down the lines of RPG, The Way is another fairly good indie game. Unfortunately, it takes until Episode 2 to really get started...

EDIT: Bobsickle, Final Fantasy doesn't have a story that runs through the series, so you lose.

Despite being a Halo fan (Shoot me) I agreed with the review, apart from the story part as I played the other two. Everything was all true, just like Yahtzee's review on Fable, Tomb Raider, Bioshock and Manhunt!

And also very funny like the rest, great job again. smile.gif
