(NOTE: If anyone mentions the HALO games I will kill you)
Silent Hill Series -Do I really have to say? C'mon!
Oddworld Series -Only really played the first two games, but the story was original, the games were hard but fun, and you could tell the developers really had a fun with it.
Metal Gear Solid Series -Yeah, I know, it's got a lot of cliches and all the animal names start to get old after a while, but it's the best action game I've played so far.
Resident Evil 1- I've only played the remake, but it was great. Really scared me. I also like the addition they made in the plot. The rest of the games were okay, but it never really achieved this level of greatness again.
5 Days a Stranger -I hate kissing ass, but this game really was good. Damn you, Croshaw.
Driver 2 -The graphics were bad even for Playstation, but hey, I have never had more fun wrecking other people's cars than I did with this game.
We carry a harpoon
But there ain't no whales so we tell tall tales
And sing a whaling tune

And I agree with Pokemon, too - even if I didn't think the game was pretty fun, you can't argue that it's a good game for kids especially. It's so interactive and has really good elements to it, and all the peripherals and ways to play with friends and everything else just adds up to a formula that I'm surprised other games haven't copied at least some parts of.
So I've got to add:
Most of the Zelda games up until Majora's Mask
Super Mario Brothers 1, 2, and 3
Mario 64
Super Smash Brothers
Donkey Kong Country 1 and 2
Star Wars Battlefront 2
Morrowind
Sonic 1, 2, 3, Sonic and Knuckles
Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine
Lego Star Wars II
SimTower
Ducktales
Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3
Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego
And now some ones that probably few have heard of, mostly from my strange childhood of Christian daycare:
Uniracers (come on, who doesn't like to race unmanned unicycles?)
Snake, Rattle, and Roll
Marble Madness
Treasure Cove
Jill of the Jungle
Operation Neptune
Bible Buffet (you throw forks at sentient tomatos, pizza slices, salt shakers, you name it - and eat them. Whoever is the fattest at the end of the game wins. And it has nothing to do with the Bible except for the occasional quiz where the questions don't even show up on the screen, so we always just guessed T or F )
Spiritual Warfare (a really in-depth RPG kinda like the Zelda games, but I'm pretty sure it came out first, where you throw fruit at such evil people like bicycle riders, to save their soul. Don't forget that angels run pawn shops.)
King of Kings (You play as the wise men on a camel trying to get to Bethlehem, or as Mary on a donkey trying to get away from Herod, or as Joseph jumping up logs on a giant waterfall and crap to find Jesus at the temple.)
Captain Bible (a gay-looking superhero that defeats foes with the Sword of the Spirit and stuff)
P.S. Yes, it totally was me that submitted those games to SA, and no, they totally did not give me credit. ( )

yeah, someone else agrees with me, that Donkey Kong Country 3 is lame. Trust me, I really wanted to like that game...after playing the first two..i was so disappointed at how small the sprites were for the 3rd one..i didnt even buy it.
DKC is the best of the whole series. DKC2 has some wonderful stages,.but to be honest with you..I still to this day have not beat DKC2. I am forever stuck at the stage called "Toxic Tower", and the jumps you have to make from one platform to the next with your little green python, can be quite impossible to achieve.
*sigh*

a few others sprang to mind before:
Eternal Darkness
Mario Kart 64
And Vampire: The Masquerade, but that's already there. That bit in the hotel is fucking terrifying.
