(Known casually as The Drips)
Ethnicity: Stenyalans, beloved of the great hyena god Stenya
Currency: Stenyalan Dollars, scraps of paper showing Stenya's holy symbol, a hyena head with a sword and a hammer in the back.
Government Type: We are led by Stenya-Otal, the high priest.
Social freedoms: Somewhat restricted. You may worship any god you wish, provided you acknowledge the superiority of Stenya. You may say anything you wish, provided that it is not contrary to the Stenyan Church's teachings.
Economic control: Free Market. The governing priests have more important things to think of than money.
Army policy: Completely conscripted, we trust Stenya to chose those who will be soldiers.
Foreign policy: We accept skilled workers.
Interventionist policy: War must be brought upon those who would war with the peoples of Stenya or their allies (2)

And as for the terrorists, well. We'll supress any mention of their actions in the news, then tell the terrorists that we'll negotiate, they just need to land the plane. While this is happening, every piece of land that could even hold a plane within fifty miles of the plane will be filled with the armys sconner squads, who will storm the plane the minute its wheels touch ground. Either we liberate the people from the plane and kill the terrorists, or we blow the plane up and say the passengers overpowered the terrorists and landed funny.
Also, we'll start building a huge alabaster dome in the capital for no reason whatsoever.

The change is almost unnoticeable as the economy keeps rising.
Event
A faction within your military is in open revolt. They have already captured a district within your capital city. They are demanding that you put a radical rightwing officer in charge of security.

A high priest is plotting against your rule. He says that you are not a true follower of Stenyana. He says you are a deceiver and blasphemer. He is very popular among the people and religious order.

You have fooled the people into thinking that your rule is benevolent but the man is incredibly suspicious since he is an atheist. Luckily he is unable to do anything. You’re security advisor suggests you kill him and he will simply fade from the public’s memory.
The actions taken by the counterterrorism squad were completely successful with no civilian or allied casualties and several prisoners taken. You’re popularity increases dramatically as a result.
Everyone loves your idea for the alabaster dome. Many very skilled architects are offering their services for this project.

Also, the prisoners will be interrogated to find out who they work for, and where they're from.
Plans for the Alabaster Dome will be drawn up, and building will begin once I've surrupticiously passed a tax increase to pay for it. Quite handy, this boost of popularity.

Having just come to power I assure there will be elections when things settle down but for the moment I am going to try to take authoritarian power and close down all those plotting or contributing to the instability of my sovereign government. Also, I want to put members of my revolutionary organization in control of most government bodies and have trusted members of the former regime in subordinate posts.

As my first act as President I pay Ron Livingston to come to the center of our biggest city and stand around for a while, to the delight of my various citizens. (They're big Office Space fans)

I give a few speeches encouraging people to save more money for retirement.

I have their position surrounded with snipers and barricades, then round up the families of all those ungrateful upstarts and threaten to have them deported to somewhere unpleasant, like the middle of the Pacific Ocean, with nothing but a few pool noodles and a winning smile from the guy throwing each person out of the plane.

The priest steps down his rhetoric but vows that the matter will not end there.
The bogus position you have given him is making him very happy.
They reveal nothing.
There is amazing outrage among the lower classes. They thought you could do this without raising taxes. They begin protesting outside city limits.

Many people recognise him and are constantly pestering him. After a day of being swamped by Office Space fans, Ron Livingston requests backup.
The people think that you are trying to cheat them out of hard earned money. They begin to riot.
A battle starts out good but is ultimately unsuccessful as the rioters provide aid to the rogue units.
