OK.. i know its not the christmas season yet, and its still over 3 months to christmas, but i figured this would be a good topic, and especially as retailers have been known to throw up christmas displays earlier, and earlier every year.

hopefully this thread will be chock full of posts when christmas rolls around. something to read online while youre tucked away inside your warm home sipping hot cocoa sprinkled with cinnamon & nutmeg all while watching snowflakes falling slowly outside.

i dont expect many replies to this thread as of now, not too many are in the "christmas spirit" as of yet. but im certain as the holiday starts to loom closer, it should become a popular place to share thoughts.

specifically, what are some of your christmas memories? what was your best christmas you remember, and what made it so great?

I remember Christmas morning, back when it meant something to me. blush.gif

We'd set the camcorder up... gather around on the rug and around the tree... we always opened our stockings first, I remember that... always full of goodies and treats... then the presents... wonderful things, some of which I still had... and, when it was all over, we'd have breakfast, go to church...

Life was wonderful. happy.gif

I like to pretend its Christmas all year round.
i sing caroles when ever i feel like it.
If let it snow comes to mind no matter where i am i will be singing
Most find it weird im just joyful and triumphant

One of my first memories was getting
my Baby All Gone Doll that would eat and drink
from a bottle that had actual liquid in it and a
jar of sweet cherries that to this day still smells like cherries.

My family would designate someone to hand out and organize presents. That person got to wear a very cool Santa hat.

Aww... how sweet! happy.gif

Although there were no such perks in my family, I did have one good grace to my Christmas: three times the presents. I'd have a celebration with my mother's side of the family on Christmas Eve, a personal family celebration on Christmas morning, and a celebration with my father's side of the family on Christmas Day night.

It was glorious. biggrin.gif

This year, I'm avoiding the usual festivities (being with my mums extended family and their infuriatingly posh poshery) to be with my lady and her extended family. They know how to hold a party.

And here, its always been wakign up quite early, unwrapping an assortment of presenty things, seeing how quickly we can get the best stuff to work, then usually going to a relative of the excessive poshery to demolish turkey, before playing wrapping paper shreddery again. Its alright, just not worlds of fun.

Unlike the year when that entire bit of the family went and hired out an entire country hotel. To put it into context, I discovered alcahol that Christmas. Good times.

I always enjoyed Thanksgiving a bit more than Christmas, just for the fact that the food was always better. My birthday being close was an added bonus. I did enjoy the year I got a Super Nintendo though. That was a gift that I still use. smile.gif
