I think a large portion of America is stupid, but it's not fair to base your findings on Jay Leno. I'm sure they omit everybody they find who knows what they're talking about, because it's not as funny as seeing dumb people.

What country is without arrogance and stupidity? Reason it's aimed at US all the time is because they are the top dog in global power. Like anything else, it's fine to take shots at the guy on top.

It's not about pot shots.

IT's just that the US has the most globaly televised idiots, while the rest of the world does a fair job of sweeping ours under the rug.

thanks to jerry springer and webcams, and the USs large population, your morons are able to cluster in larger groups and spread their sorry idiocy faster.

I had taken that into consideration.

It's only disgusting that they exist at all and somehow made it into university without knowing what the largest state in their country is. Even when Jay is saying; "maybe that girl over there knows... maybe I'll ask her.... Maybe I'll ask her.... maybe Ahll ask er.... Al ask er... Alaska...."

I pledge allegiance to ass, of the united buttocks of that chick that played Jack Bauer's daughter in 24. The rest of this declaration is probably not legal. Especially involving stuff that stands.

But on a serious note:
I do not pledge allegiance to Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. Although that does not mean I actively seek to overthrow her. I do not have any personal problem with her, just the whole idea of a royal blood. Hence if there were to be a civil war, I would have to stand on the side of parliament.

Lecter, I would back the Royals family in that situation.

I'm not going to a get a knighthood defending Tony Blair.

To arms my friend! (Or should I say... hush, I'm planning to be a double agent, which side for, is the only question).

Oh yeah, and by the way, Tony Blair isn't prime minister anymore....

If there is a war between the Royalists and Republicans in Great Britain then you should only join when it is obvious that one side will win. For example if the Royalists have the Republicans surrounded in the Parliament Building or if the Republicans have the Royalists surrounded in the Royal Palace. That way you can claim a soldiers pension without actually doing anything.

Speaking of violent British history, imagine if Guy Fawkes had been able to blow up Parliament; you lot'd all be Catholics now! tongue.gif

As for the British Civil War, I feel bad for Charles I, but he had absolutely no right to do what he did. Unfortunately, Oliver Cromwell turned out to be a royal *ss, condemning the Irish to poverty and closing down all amusements due to his strictly Puritan beliefs.

Thank God for that mosquito, then. rolleyes.gif

Of course, Guy fawkes.. Who doesn't know Guy Fawkes!

I pledge allegiance is very American, I don't think Canadians need to do that. I sang God Save the Queen in junior high and stuff, I didn't mind it.

I like our ties to British culture, without it we just be 'not americans'. We're not big or cool enough or recognizable to be taken seriously. The best thing about Canada is the wildlife and nature, it's pretty unspoiled for the most part. But you can't really pledge an allegiance to Canada's nature.

I like how people who live in the US are the only people in the americas who actually call themselves americans.

Also, Jordan, they made you sing sex pistols songs in school?

cool.
