I saw a Simpsons rerun last night, the one with Mark Hamill (and Chewbacca. And the gay droids of SW versus the macho droids of Battlestar Galactica).

It had lots of SW references in the two major scenes Hamill appeared. He was at a comic con and poked fun at GL ("Don't break my lightsaber, Lucas makes me pay for those") and at the fans (not sure the reference. "Losers" was implied at the least).

But also in the eppy, Homer goes to Bodygaurd training. In his trials, he's made to jump in front of a bullet to save somebody's life. But his "Nooo" is pathetic, and his instructor illustrates the proper way to shout "Noooooo".

This came out years before ROTS, so maybe GL is striking back? At the loser fans? At Hamill? who cares? I just thought it was just awfully coincidental. But then, the Vader Nooo was just awful, period.

Harrison Ford has famously poked fun at GL, as we all know. I don't know when another such case of in-your-face GL bashing will turn up, but this might make a convenient place to document public disdain. We're not all fanboy losers.

Did anyone else catch the AFI Lifetime Achievement Award dinner for Lucas back in 2005?

I remember one thing about that dinner: Harrison Ford was drunk as hell, and he was enjoying every minute of it. Slurring his line about "the older, funnier movies" and laughing too hard at most of the jokes, he was the happiest I'd seen in ages. biggrin.gif

Now, if only Comedy Central could do a Roast of GL... devil.gif

I think the greatest thing about that show was William Shatner coming on there talking about Star Trek before "realizing" he was in a place about Star Wars. Freakin hilarious!!!
"And shepherds we shall be for Thee, my Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, that our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth unto Thee and teeming with souls shall it ever be. In Nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritus Sancti!!!"

Reminds me of the monorail Simpsons episode.

Mayor Quimby to Spock: "May, aah, the force be with you"
It seems like everyone is over the nitpicking. Too bad.

The instructor is also Mark Hamil. geek.gif

Hahahahahaha
ya i saw that

besides Harrison i loved when Carrie Fisher
made the jokes about GL's sexual advances towards

and the supposed sex that took place
the only low point was Maroon 5's preformance

i like them and i know Lucas did it for his kids
but it was just like they soooo don't belong here
