Im like most, in that I thought his acting/lines were somewhat annoying, but I relaxed my guard a bit realizing that he was probably under the influence of Lucas.
Im a bit behind when it comes to films. sometimes, i find myself renting films that are 10-15 yrs old, just because i never saw it in theatres, and I can finally catch up since i have the free time.
This was the case when I watched "Jingle all the way",.and he is just as annoying in that film, as he was in TPM. You would think that when someone is featured in such a high-profile film as any Star Wars film, it would be a serious career booster, and it would spawn them many more opportunities for other big budget roles...youd be mistaken.
Jake Lloyd has only been in three other films,.only one other one after TPM. He is now 18 yrs old, and by the looks of his unshaven scraggly face, he needs a serious conference call from the Gillette Corporation. have a look: http://en.wikipedia....:Jake_Lloyd.jpg
As I watched "Jingle all the way", I noticed that young Jakie's last line to Arnold was "Thats my dad...He's my dad". It seems like a bit of ironic overshadowing, knowing that Darth Vader says the reverse of this in ESB.
This whole film is filled with lots of the same cheesy lines that LLoyd similiarly recites in TPM. Maybe the kid is just annoying, I would have refused to babysit him if asked. He seems like a total-know-it-all. Its not that I hate the kid, but Jake, Haley Joel Osmont, and the little cute girl from Bicentennial Man have suddenly disappeared off of the big screen. ( mI wont even mention Macaulay Culkin or the red-headed hippie kid from Terminator 2) So what?, do these individuals only possess acting ability in their childhoods?..do they lose acting ambition once puberty hits?
