The IR laws are not idiotic; they were just implemented idiotically.

Plus, it's better than getting a PS3 or a Wii, that's for sure.

1. And the Nintendo Fan Boy heard the words of the Forum Man and declared "Truly will you know the name of the King."

Sorry... Just finished TN again.

Depends on what games you prefer to play. If you're a "hardcore" gamer, then you'd get a 360. If you enjoy gimmicky games and a serious one every now and then, grab a Wii.

The only reason you would want to get a PS3 if you were a graphic whore.

Buying a PS3 now seems to me a dumb idea, because there is hardly any games made for it, and in some countries (e.g. mine) the online system has not been constructed yet. Might as well wait till the prices lower a bit.

Isn't the 360 the one with the 30% fail rate?

Oh, and the IR laws weren't idiotic...from a certain point of view.

Ah well it's a contest between the Wii and the 360, PS3 doesn't interest me... I got a DS recently and love it, Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time is more fun and has made me laugh more than any game in a LONG time.

Not to sound like a fanboy, but the 360s that were bricking were all bought in the first generation release. This is why the 360 is ahead in the competition, at least for me... they've been around longer. This means more games, more kinks worked out, comparable graphics to the PS3 and much cheaper. Plus, achievements.

And CJ, definitely check out the Phoenix Wright games on your DS. Worth the price of admission by themselves, although replay value is low.

Ace Attorney? Will do Josh! They look cool, as does Room 215... any other DS recommendations?

Not strictly a DS game, but a GBA game you can play on the DS - Mario and Luigi - Superstar Saga. Like Partners in Time but a teeny bit better.

And Trauma Center. But it's hard.

And Warioware.

Trauma Center lost me when fish started swimming around inside people and cutting them up. I finished it because I spent money on it, not because I wanted to.

Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow is pretty sweet, and Portrait of Ruin is fun too. Bomberman is good if you have friends with a DS, otherwise don't bother. Mario Kart is the most fun I've had with the series since the original on SNES, and The New Super Mario Bros. is easy, but enjoyable.

PW:AA is still my #1 pick for new DS owners.

Hmm. I'd recommend Metroid Prime Hunters, but to be truthful it's a game for the bored. It is for the most part an online game so the single-player dealie is fairly short and difficult. Biggest problem of all is the complete lack of the lock-on system that was present in the other Prime games; and when you're playing on a screen that's only a couple of inches across it's a pixellated pain in the ass. All in all it plays like Nintendo wanted to experiment with turning Metroid into a Quake clone. Not bad for blowing shit up but otherwise don't touch it.

Surprisingly, the Pokemon games for the DS aren't too crappy.

Portrait of Ruin kicked ass. I want it.

Also, Full Metal Alchemist: Dual Sympathy is more of a cash-in than a game. They could have done so much better with the DS's hardware. This game would have been better suited on the GBA.

That's all from me for now.
I'm not pessimistic; I've just realised that the light at the end of the tunnel is an incoming train.

Room 215 is a total yawn fest if you ask me. There has yet to be a DS game I really liked. They ought to do more n64 ports. Goldeneye, Blast Corps, and OoT on the DS would be awesome. Nintendo isn't doing well. Their next big project is a game that reminds players that they are fatassed hambeasts.

On the bright side, though, they are making Contra 4 for the DS. And you have a Bionic Commando grapple gun in this one! Woo!

The people who need Goldeneye ported to DS are the same people who just can't wait to play Wolfenstein 3D over and over again. Yes, it was a good game for the time -- let's move forward now.

Plus, I think a first person shooter on a handheld system would just be awkward.

I think they made a medal of honor or osme other shooter for the DS that got a lot of praise, maybe that s where they got the idea?

Never did like golden eye much in the n64,but then again I m not a fan of shooters...

Why not 5 days a stranger for the DS?

It'd have to be at least the whole series SEs because otherwise it would just be too small. A 2 or 3 hour game isn't really worth it but if they were all on it...
