At least they got something right - Cave story deserves the No. 1 for sure. I'd think Yahtzee would agree, too.

...

You can play them on Windows 98. I've got two computers with two different versions of Windows 98 and the games play fine on both of them.

Have any of you checked out Facade? I think it's found on the 11-20 list. It's a little bit strange since most of the memory usage comes from having two characters with totally unscripted dialog. The premise is that you go over to a married couple's apartment for the evening, and they get into a huge fight while you're there. You can either push them apart, try to keep them together, try to get Trip's wife to leave with you... whatever. The parser is fairly decent at figuring out what you're saying, but it doesn't give you a lot of room to do so.

Try making out with Grace in front of Trip, or playing with the Magic 8 Ball while they're yelling at each other. The most fun can be had by being a total bastard.

Going to check out some more of these games...

Here's the original blog entry: http://tigsource.com...s-parts-1-and-2

QUOTE
Part Two is a compilation of good independent games (not ranked)

Don't talk about numbers, the list isn't even ranked.

What bother me the most is that again, The Shivah, while being a good game, make it into the list while there are easily far better AGS games out there which don't suffer from lack of puzzle and extremely short lenght, and this include Dave Gilbert's next game, the Blackwell Legacy. To take a rather FResque example, it's as if the Rob Blanc trilogy kept making it into the top lists while games that surpass Rob Blanc in every aspects, like 1213, Chzo Mythos or GFW, were left unmentionned.

Sorry, but why would David Gilbert's next game be ranked if it isn't even out yet? wacko.gif

A demo is out (if that's the game I'm thinking of, with that blonde PI with the physical build of a brick shithouse).

Never mind, I didn't check to see whether Blue was right or not.

My mistake, change that to "and this include Dave Gilbert's following game, The Blackwell Legacy". The game was released a year ago.

Josh: Your post still had its place.
