Choosing five albums out of thousands that make up my favourites. There's no way I can narrow it down that far.

1. Meat Loaf--Bat Out of Hell
2. Meat Loaf--Bat Out of Hell II
3. George Thorogood--Ride 'Til I Die
4. Meat Loaf--Dead Ringer
5. George Thorogood--The Hard Stuff

For most of my other favorite artists I got Best Ofs to see if I liked them and never got around to getting anything else. I like some of the Best Ofs better, like the Queen and the George Thorogood, but only a twat lists a Best Of as one of his favorite albums.

EDIT: Added number 5, and added some to the main paragraph.

EDIT2: Made first EDIT more descriptive.

EDIT3: I got the name of album 4 wrong, because the title song has a different name.

is this a joke?
i'm not usually a prick about others taste in music but seriously, you must listen to something other than shlock.

and that's with all respect to the first Bat out of Hell, which i listened to as a kid (minus the ballads). If Paradise by the Dashboard Light comes on the radio you can be sure i'll sing along. Todd Rundgren is good people too.

If i was trapped on a desert island with these records i'd envy Papillon.

top 5 (all assuming i'm actually trapped on a desert island):

Miles Davis - Bitches Brew
Animal Collective - Sung Tongs
Boredoms - Super AE
Sunn O))) - Black 1
Glenn Branca - Symphony No. 5

also assuming i have enough LSD/psilocybin mushrooms to last me until i'm mauled by a jungle cat or cats or crocodile or whatever other hunter is indigenous to the area.

Of course I do, schlock just happens to be my favorite. Of course I could list Monty Python Sings up there, or maybe something by Tchaikovsky, but Meat Loaf and George Thorogood are just my favorite.

I listen to bands as varied as Queen and Twisted Sister, and artists as different as Don McLean and David Bowie, but none of them really appeal to me as much as the overblown, orchestral experience of Meat Loaf, or the dirty, rock and roll feel of George Thorogood.

Heccubus, I think we can bend the rules especially for you, and you could at least give us some examples of your massive favorites collection.

Deftones - "White Pony"
Gorillaz - s/t and "Demon Days"

The Locust - Everything from "Plague Soundscapes" and on.
Melt-Banana - "Cell-Scape"
Foo Fighters - "The Colour And The Shape"

Minor Threat - "Complete Discography"
Operation Ivy - "Energy"
Deltron 3030 - s/t
A Tribe Called Quest - "The Low End Theory"
Beastie Boys - "Ill Communication"

I'm just gonna stop now before I get carried away. I should let it be known that every album I own is technically a "favourite" because if I don't like something that much, I usually don't keep it for long. So my "favourites" list is technically almost 2100 albums long.
