Did any of the other Bonds dye their hair? The only one who even needed hair alteration was Connery, and that was because he was prematurely bald! Honestly, could you imagine a bald Bond? rolleyes.gif

Prior to Craig most of the Bond actors had dark hair (or what was left of Connery's in his case), and if I remember the Bond books right Bond has dark hair in the books, so dying the blonde haired Craig to give him dark hair seemed like a reasonably easy thing to do.

I can't believe you actually had reasons
I just thought you were being difficult

QUOTE (Bond @ Aug 9 2007, 11:25 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
It seemed too damn moody for me. Christian Bale was a nice choice for Bruce Wayne, but his frog-throated rasp as Batman just seemed ridiculous. Cillian Murphy, I feel, was nowhere near menacing enough as the Scarecrow, and the film's opening sequence of Wayne training and stuff went on for far too long; they should have cut it down to around 7 minutes instead of giving us a 30 minute slice from what feels like American Ninja VI: The Serious One. Arguably, my favorite Batfilm could only be made if you took the best bits of Batman and Forever and spliced them all together. biggrin.gif

I though Cillian did a great job
and the training was essential...

Overall, these are my Bond ratings:

Dude.... honestly
Sean and Pierce deserve to be at least

one away from Roger Moore

I'm sorry I disappointed you.

I'd like to see the Penguin, Catwoman, even Mr. Freeze and/or Poison Ivy given another shot at the big screen, but it'll probably be another 30 years before they're even considered for it, even if Aaron Eckhart's Harvey Dent/Two-Face is a huge success with fans, critics, general audiences, etc., so I won't hold my breath.

I actually saw a pic of him with dark hair floating around Google, but I can't link to it. sad.gif

Ohhh Lord Aquie

you have yet to disappoint me and
at this rate i doubt you ever will

as for the characters you mentioned sure it
would be great to see them re-done

but they had better get it right.
Especially for Freeze and Ivy, oh and Batgirl GEEZ.

Now that was a disappointment.

Im not so sure it will take 30 years
but yes a long, long ass time.

I really don't see the purrfect (haha) Catwoman
out there in Hollywood or a Penguin or anyone else.

I just don't have the vision. Either that or my
standards are way to high.... as they should be.

Jade, I didn't like BB either, but not for the same reasons as Bond. I posted a lot about it here:

http://www.chefelf.c...h...=3625&st=30

Feel free to disagree with me there, because a conversation about last year's movies shouldn't really be going on in a topic like this one.

If there is another Bond flick with Daniel Craig then definetely count me in. He kicked major butt in Casino Royale. I am so looking ofrward to The Dark Knight. Batman Begins was awesome!!! Iron Man I will want to see as well as The Incredible Hulk to see if they made improvements on this one.

I think Heath Ledger will do a good job at playing the Joker. The clips from the teasers sound pretty cool when he speaks. I think Heath Ledger's acting is under-rated. He oculd surprise us all with this portrayal. It looks like 2008 will be another bust for my funds like this year was. biggrin.gif

The movie I am anticipating the most is 'The Dark Knight'. I can't think of anything else to get excited about, although I do intend to have a look at the next Bond movie...

... just as long as its not an consciously post 9/11 adaptation of 'Live and Let Die' that takes great artistic liberties with large chunks of the story, while remaining lovingly faithful to the novel's unsavoury parts. (Bond knows what I'm talking about)

And as for Heath Ledger as the Joker, I was a little surprised by the decision because I wouldn't have picked him myself. But to be fair, the guy is a very fine actor and quite adaptable to different roles. Fellow Australians may remember him in his debut 'Two Hands', in which he played a very different character from the types he has played in his big Hollywood films. He can take on the role.

Anyway, if I were all you guys, I would just wait and see. Give the guy a chance.

I'll tell you something about that actually. I recently watched a very nice movie called 'Spanglish'. It was a great movie and it was really moving. Now, 'Spanglish' has been around for a while and one of my brothers recommended it a while ago. I didn't watch it then however because it has Adam Sandler in a prominent role and I'm not a big fan of his. But you know what, when I finally did watch it, I liked all of it and I actually really liked Adam Sandler in this film. So, I say until you've seen something, give it the benefit of the doubt.

EDIT - Also,

1. Timothy Dalton
2. Sean Connery
3. Daniel Craig
4. Pierce Brosnan

5. George Lazenby (bad Connery impersonator)

6. Roger Moore (nice guy but not Bond)

CIV, Im all argued out but im sure to get my second wind sometime soon.

As for upcoming movies aside from Hellboy 2 and Dark Knight 2008 is looking pretty grim
Sure i had issues with the first Hulk but i got over it and actually like it, sort of.

So i have to be blown away by this newer version or i might just have to give up on the Hulk. I just don't see what good can come of remaking a movie that is less than 10 years old. I wonder how Eric Bana and Jennifer Connelly feel about there work just being re-written as if they never had a part. I guess it can't be changed now.

I know its geeky but i like the Mummy movies
and i anticipate the 3rd installment with hopes the film won't suffer without Rachel Weiz.

Also i've been made aware that the video games Hitman and The Darkness are being adapted for the big screen. Hitman will be released before 2008 but i think it still deserves a mention. The trailer looked interesting. As for the Darkness i only saw a poster so im not sure of a release date.

Back to superheros, if they were to make another Superman i'd be down for that as long as Bryan Singer is the director. Keep Brett Ratner AWAY. I don't know much about Iron Man but i'll probably like it.

And im still awaiting for news of a Halo film.....

there hows that for getting back on track
