i dont really know what the sub-genre is called, but i refer to them as dude movies.
they are typically silly films with campy humor.
such films like:
Bill and Teds
Waynes World
Pauly Shore films
Beavis and Butthead
harold and kumar go to white castle
dude, wheres my car
etc, etc,
anyone else like these types of films?

Um... I don't know. I think Pauly Shore films went out of fashion about a decade ago, so... 
Besides, the only real Dude movie is The Big Liebowski.
